Yes sir, just need to stop being lazy and put the rest of the sealant on my 'sealed' solenoid box. :anonymous: That is the only thing holding us back.

Has anyone ordered from this site, or is familiar with the Greenlane Offroad brand? I'm interested in the aluminum skid plates and rock sliders, and the idea of Canadian-made aluminum parts is very appealing.

Haven’t personally, no. Also make sure aluminum is for you. If you plan on light backroads, then by all means. However, more challenging roads/trails will result in bent skids and with aluminum its a bit more expensive/difficult to fix. Something to consider.

Light backroads will probably be the extent of my off-roading for the next while. The truck is my daily and I live in the city, so I'm more concerned with something light and resistant to rust.

As you might already know from their email address, TacomaTown is a front for Cochrane Toyota's parts dept. in Alberta. In 2017, I've purchased an FN Konig wheel from them, as did @Joe23. Beware like many online storefronts, they don't keep much inventory in stock. My wheel shipped 5 weeks after ordering. You could be waiting 2-3 months for skid plates. Best to call them and understand the lead times.

Based on my experience with an aluminum bumper, I would absolutely recommend against aluminum skids or sliders. When aluminum is dragged over a rock, it gets gouged and bent. While you can heat it up and bent it back, repairing the gouge is impractical. Any gouges in my bumper are filled with JB Weld, sanded smooth, then rattlecanned over. If weight is a concern, get the "overland grade" steel skids made of 1/8" steel like I did instead of the common 3/16" steel. I occasionally bounce over rocks (you can hear the impacts from inside the truck following me) and 1/8" steel has held up for 5 years.

Fair enough, just an FYI for ya. Would suck to pay good money for something and it being damaged beyond repair because you didn’t know. Sounds like you’re good to go.

This “Sport” is expensive so just making sure people know what they are getting. Make the best informed purchase.

    ummm .....ya.
Be it bumper or tree mount, its fine as long as the poop is firm.
If its a "Hershey Squirt" situation, things can go waaaaaay bad.
