How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Deposit left on a Cement OR AC MT in early Sept. Ontario, Canada.
No idea on timeframe.
Dealer checked this week and still none in the production schedule. Apparently it's a rare [low volume] spec. I'm willing to wait.

 

Ask your Dealer for a printout of the “Dealer Daily” showing your vehicle. It will show your VIN as well as all the pertinent dates. They should be willing to show you.

 

It actually didn't take it that long from Mexico to Texas. From the update screenshots from the dealer, it seems like it is on the SLOWEST train going through Texas. My salesman is off today so hopefully Monday I'll get an update

 

I ordered a 2021 lunar rock TRD pro MT in august was told it’ll take 8-9 weeks to delivery well after a little over 9 weeks with no updates at all I called the dealer and they told me that they didn’t even receive a build date for my truck yet I’m not going to lie I’m kind of annoyed am I getting jerked around or should I just get my deposit back is there any way I can find out more information on my order because the dealer gives me very little help any information would be appreciated

 

You need to get your deposit back and find another dealer. Zero communication isn’t good.

It took two weeks for my 2021 SR, silver, 4wd, V6, 4-door, bone stock with no add ons to arrive. Was scheduled for for 3.5 weeks, but came in early.

Sales guy always answered my texts throughout the process. I would get my deposit back and find another dealer.

 

The only thing my sales guy tells me is that he has no updates and when he knows something he’ll let me know but never does I always have to call them I finally called and someone said they don’t even have a build date yet and it’s been more than 9 weeks don’t you guys think they should’ve already had atleast a build date by now I don’t really know how this works it’s my first time special ordering a truck

 

I don’t know it it matters but I did order a 2021 TRD pro fully loaded in MT with a snorkel idk if that means it’ll take longer

 

You’ll get it whenever the allocation is made for your dealer or one close by that is willing to dealer trade.

So technically you can’t order a truck from Toyota. Each dealer is allocated their trucks based on sales and Toyota sends them their inventory based on that. (Ie if your dealer never sells Pros that will not be allocated one) so when the salesman says he can order you one he’s lying. What is actually happening he is asking Toyota to allocate one to them and Toyota decides yes or no. If they say no, then he starts looking for that is allocated for another dealer and asks them if that would like to dealer trade so he can get you your truck. So the the timeline is all based on whether one is allocated for your dealer( could be a month or six months) so you get just depending on when you ask for the allocation. Also if you ever ask for a configuration that Toyota has no need to make you will not get it(ie a one of one will never be built)

 

Well then I should probably get my money back then because he literally texted me and said they have ordered the truck thanks for that long answer by the way I appreciate you explaining that to me

 

I put down deposit/allocation for 21 Cement TRD OR 4x4 DCSB AT last week of August and I picked it up last week of September. So about a month from the day I walked in and day I drove it off. Was fairly quick.

 

Yeah I put a deposit in august 26 they said they ordered it on the 28 of august. Was told a 8-9 week wait for delivery. I’ve since busted the 9 week and I called and they said they still didn’t receive a build date. So I’m pretty sure I’m getting jerked around. I’ll just get my money back it just sucks because I’ve waited over 2 months for nothing.

 

Well not for nothing the allocation is in but it could be 6 months, the salesman should have never given a time frame. As there is no way he could have known how long it could take.

 

Well either way, he should’ve just said that from the jump instead of saying they can order it. I’m spending a lot of money customer service is important to me. Every time I call it seems like I’m just getting pushed to the side because they’re trying to buy time.

 

I put in an order on a 21' black TRD off road on Oct 6th. On Oct. 7th got a confirmation on the truck and put a deposit down. They gave me an estimated delivery date of Nov. 15th. I was stoked!!! Then on Nov. 3rd I got a call from my salesman telling me that Toyota put a hold on my truck. It was in transit from the Baja, CA factory by rail to Houston, and my truck plus 5 others like it had a hold put on them. My new delivery date is early Jan. We are both hoping they don't actually hold the truck that long.

 

Yeah see I never got a order confirmation or anything I just went in and told them what I want put a deposit down and that’s it never got a delivery date or a build date
