Thats man, it's all for fun now anyhow, so that's good. With ammo gone or so way over priced, I'm very much eyeing my unopened reloading equipment, thinking this is what I need to do now, make my own.

Solid! Many are surprised when they see how they're slapping the trigger,,,, especially as the round count goes up.
@Gearheadesw I wouldn't try to out-gear this, with all dues respect, if you're not seeing your shot, practice more, it's more than likely you. Now, I will be a bit of a hypocrite here; trying a heavier buffer is cheap n easy to try,,,. Especially if you can swap over one locally from a fellow shooter. A heavier buffer can help.

Build a rifle instead of buying a complete rifle. You will learn a lot more and appreciate what goes into a nice rifle.

The ruger precision rifle is a good off the shelf long range rifle. T3 is another good one. The rpr you can easily upgrade the barrel when you get to that level

This might be as good a place as any to ask: any members here know of other rifles that shoot 7.5x55 (GP11) besides the Swiss K31 and variants? I have a ton of that ammo, but my K31 has seen better days and I thought it might be worth replacing the rifle with something else, preferably more modern, that can use that ammo. Google was no help.

You may only find it in a 6.5x55 but it forsho comes in 7.5x55 as well.

Or you can have a modern action spun onto a custom barrel in 7x55

Thanks for that. I was unaware of that rifle. Squeezing off a full clip of GP11 in short order would be quite the shoulder assault.

This thought has crossed my mind. I'm anxiously awaiting the day that no more GP11 is available and only "aftermarket" stuff is made at a high price and possibly questionable quality, which would be unfortunate no matter which weapon I have.

I'll have to look into cost of those LA-11 rifles and go from there. I suppose once ammo is all dried up, the resale of 7.5x55 chambered stuff will tank. I like old guns but this part of the equation sucks.

Thank you both for your help!

MCM Firearms, they are local to me here in Boise ID. They do some fantastic work.

In the not too far distant future I'm going to put a magnum long range rifle together. Is that Mark 4 a 3.5-10?

I absolutely love that rifle. That Mark 4 is a 8.5x25x50.

Was going to roll my own, but components couldn’t compete with loaded ammo from Mile-High. I was shocked they still had some in stock, and $0.40/rd cheaper than everyone else.

Glad I stocked up on double coupon day in mid November ‘16. Been flipping lowers and ammo like a MF over the past few weeks. :D

Picked up my newest rifle! The front rifle, 6.5 creedmoor. I also stumbled across some match ammo, picked up 160rds.

My 6.5 loves that hornady match. It’s boring to shoot it’s that accurate out of a sled.
