I use the crawl box in low and rear case in high all the time. My crawl in the 2.28 so I use it to get between trails and in the dunes and personally think it takes to much throttle input for a lot of control crawling. 4.7 for crawling. Double low is to much for the auto personally and can count on both hands how many times I’ve used it (made it harder than just using the single 4.7)

I’m constantly shifting in and out of 4wd to 2wd and vice versa. Takes unneeded stress off the front when in 2wd between big obstacles.

crawl box and transfer case should be toward is low. Middle is nothing and back is high. 4wd is just two positions 4 or 2. If you put the tcase or crawl box in newuteal nothing will happen and it’ll grind like crazy trying to shift out of it after trying to drive without turning the car off in my case lol.

Which is why I tell everyone with an auto that 2.28 is perfect. Once you take into account the torque converter it basically doubles the crawl ratio. With 2.28 and 2.57 I've never once felt like I wished I had lower gearing on hard obstacles.

On another note, snow wheeling was a joke. Had about 2" at 6000' and about 3" at 8800'. At least it was an 1 1/2 hours out of the house. lol

I've noticed that grinding as well. In the crawlbox switching from low to high, it'll grind every now and then when the truck isn't moving and transmission is in neutral. I have HD detent springs, and try to shift slowly but still happens which I think is kinda weird since nothing should be spinning?

I just push it fast and hard and no issues. Or turn the truck off and do it.

I think anything more than 5:1 is to much with the auto but that’s me personally. I know plenty of people who wheel 2.57 with an auto with no issues. My dad has been wheeling an atlas 3.8 with a manual in a jeep for years and gets down lol

Only if your front hubs are locked. If you have everything hooked up on the factory case sensor wise you should be GTG.

I used a 12 volt electric blanket on my last couple trips.
    Shit was amazing!
In 17 degrees it was almost too warm in my sleeping bag.
Sure it draws 6 amps but I have 230 ah of battery.

Then yea the 4wd should still work as factory. Did you extend the wires on all the sensors?
