I was going to make some when I do it. Good looking out though.

 

The Jd fab kit. Finally got it with their slide rack installed yesterday. Quality stuff and the best fitting gussets I’ve done yet.

 

Mmmmm that looks delicious. someone was selling the kit along with a DK 3.5 kit in the 2nd gen section a few months ago. Maybe I should have bought it and gotten it over with haha.

You did indeed, the deal was great to be sure. But timing is everything, and I've got to few priorities to take care of before I can make it happen.

 

Depending on the rest of your setup you probably want them on the bottom side, to make the bump steer geometry right. But regardless you'll need to check bump steer.

I had to put the center of the pivot more or less in the middle of the stock steering arm on tht spindle to get bump steer right.

Been on the truck for 24 months and I'm about to peel it off. It has faded and stained all over the place. Going to go to a colored/textureless bed liner in the future.

 

Textureless? Raptorliner at the right settings?

 

was gonna say i know raptor liner you can get it pretty smooth with the right gun and settings.

 

also first time taking the van out since the bypasses up front. Holy shit what a difference.

Perfect. Im dealing with bump steer now since I had to push the ram forward one" to fit and the overall length is short by 1/2" compared to factory rack.

 

One problem with my solution is I lost a lot of turning radius, the right way to do it would be to cut off the stock arm and put a bracket exactly where it's needed. Just remember to leave room for the ABS sensor...

 

So welding a few tacs in my bedcage lit an unknown brand spray in bedliner on fire or got it smoldering easily. That made me think about how a paint job in that stuff might possibly engulf the vehicle faster than regular automotive / rattle can paint. Googling didn't bring up any info on raptorliner having the same amount of flammability as the stuff I know isn't raptorliner in my bed.
