Am i getting screwed?

I took my truck into the dealership for a full maintenance since ive never brought it in before and its got 93000 miles. It been running with the check engine light on for a couple days and been running a little hot and bad gas mileage...So they diagnosed it as a bad MAF sensor leaking water pump and a bad solenoid in the transmission...Great. So with an oil change new belts new MAF new solenoid new water pump and other routine maintenance they quoted me $2300 and i got them down to $2000..Its alot but alot is bad. Is that a fair price?

 

yea that sounds right if they are changing the timing belt. which if your water pump is leaking the timing belt is not too far behind it.

Did you try a different mechanic?

 

timing belt/water pump change is what? $700

how much is the tranny solenoid?

what else are they doing?

 

labor is whats killin him, the yota stealership here charges like $85 a hour labor

 

Yea its a bit much, I took mine in for 30k+ maintanence and they quoted me $950. They were gonna do oil, differentials, spark plugs, filters, and inspect everything. I told them to just do the differentials for 170 and I could do everything else myself. Still need to look into getting the spark plugs done soon

 

yea a tried a couple mechanics but no one place will do it all...No one will do the transmission work. And the solenoid is like 150 but labor is like 700 cause they have to drop the tranny and open it up.
