Morimoto Mini H1 8.0 Thoughts

Does anyone have any experience with the Morimoto Mini H1 8.0 kit? I’m about to do another retro as my Mini H1 kit from 2012 is falling apart. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to upgrade to the 8.0 kit instead of just buying new components from my current system and install them in the new housings I have on the way.

It's the same as the 7.0 but looks to come with the new bulb holders which you can buy separately and the cuttoff has a slope like the RX style.

 

I like those new bulb holders, that’s for sure. The old paper clip style is such a pain. I think my kit was the gen 4.0 when I bought it and that’s the only version I’ve seen. I would imagine the 7 and 8 are quite a bit better in build quality and hopefully output as well.

 

I would say it's worth it for a gen 4 to 8. The 7.0 is a great projector and 8.0 looks the same but with all the options the 7.0 lacked.

 

You’re running the 7.0? Do you have any issues with the high beams getting stuck on or did they fix that issue?

 

I've not had that issue but it's recommended that you run the switch with a 9v at least 50 times to check for issues prior to installation.
