Invertor needed

Hello,
Can someone please tell me what invertor I can use to power 48V 17.5 Ah 3Amp and 48V 14Ah lithium-ion battery . I am getting Sondors Fold XS and XS ebikes and want to charge the batteries while I am driving so I would like to get the correct invertor. I was looking at this one from Costco. These are the chargers needed to charge the batteries.

3amps at 120v = 360watts. That 3000w duracell would work, but would be way overkill. A 3000w inverter can provide more amps than your standard house circuit.

If it were me and I weren't using the inverter for anything more than that charger and maybe some lights or something I'd go with something like this: The wiring requirements for the lower amperage wouldn't be nearly as onerous. I'd imagine with a 3000w inverter you'd want like, 2/0 wiring if you're putting it in the bed away from the battery, you'd be pulling 250amps if you were to use all the load available. A 750w inverter is 62.5 amps @ 12v and could probably be done with 4 gauge.


Or if you have the inverter built into the bed it should handle it fine, that's 400w.

 

I thought it might be over kill.. I do have the invertor built in but I want to charge 2 batteries at the same time. I didn't think the built in could handle it while driving.

With the HarborFreight one can I hardwire it from the battery so the invertor in the cab somewhere?

Two chargers at 360w = 720 total watts. I'd go to a 1000w inverter then for some headroom so you aren't running it at full capacity all the time. Built-in won't handle two chargers, you're right.

Yes, you can wire it anywhere you want to, but if you aren't comfortable with it, please get a professional to do it. An inverter installed incorrectly (wrong wire size, poorly crimped/soldered ends, wired incorrectly, put in without a fuse, run where it could chafe, run to a spot without enough ventilation, etc etc etc) could burn your truck down pretty easily.

Or,
Use the truck inverter for one battery and a new, small unit for the second.

 

And how much does all this affect your current alternator? Will it be able to keep up?

I know our trucks came with two sizes depending on trim level.

 

I dont know the exact number but because I have the tow package with was the better alternator.
