Pretty self explanatory; the neighborhood changed, we moved. 13 years was enough.

We have great neighbors in the neighborhood where we live (Granite Shoals) and we experienced the same type of wonderful neighbors when we rented initially over on Ballycastle. The people are one of the reasons we chose to live here. We know all of our adjacent neighbors on a first name basis and pre Corona we would frequently have neighborhood gatherings. Even now, we meet out on our front lawns and chat, and we have even celebrated a neighbors birthday on their front lawn, with everyone getting together to sing Happy Birthday. Now, the taxes, that’s a different thing.

Not really, that's why I was asking. How did the demographic or neighborhood change?

I had a bunch of friends live in Avery Ranch and they all loved it. Some were single dudes living as room mates. Some were starter families. Some established families.

Meh. People move, and for a lot of reasons. Like I said, 13 years was enough.

I've been in my neighborhood about the same amount of time. The demographics are changing here as well and I'm planning my exit soon.

Yes, for us the mix of young couples and families thru to empty nesters like ourselves makes for a vibrant and engaged community. We love that we routinely hear children's laughter in the streets, and people are out and about walking and riding bikes throughout the neighborhood. It is safe, clean and well maintained, and the easy access to Brushy Creek park really tops it off. We previously lived in a gated community that was very nice, but too sterile and we hardly ever saw our neighbors, not much less have them over for coffee. To each his/her own, but I believe that the Avery Ranch community has a lot to offer, with the convenience of stores, restaurants, health clinics and hospitals within minutes, without the urban traffic congestion of many other parts of the city.

I actually met up with Kyle and his group and rode with them. They were all a great bunch and greeted my wife and I before we could even get out of our truck. We had a BLAST! Were you there?

I heard there's an off road trail in Bastrop. Does anyone know where, address or GPS?

I have heard the same, it is supposed to be a Tahiti Village I believe. I would be interested as well.

I'm in Hutto and see bikes, quads, and side x sides headed east towards Taylor on 79 almost every weekend. I've tried looking up places in the east but never find anything. Anyone know of an off road park north east of Austin?

Also, interested in the Bastrop info. Thanks

Trying to find a place to go with the family for some light offroading. Everyone's off for Veterans day Wednesday.

Tahiti Village is the place....or it was.
Word is cops have been patrolling the area on the regular.

    Never was truly public access.
Was merely off the radar for a while.
    Not so much nowadays.

    Go at your own risk.
