All U.S. Tacomas come from the factory with three leafs. Three leafs is what you should have. You have to determine if you are experiencing a harsh ride with your truck loaded.

Gotcha. Does the TSB apply to 2011 models though?

I have not seen a leaf spring TSB yet that includes the 2011 model year. You may not see actual documentation on it until August or September.

But, if you have an issue definitely discuss it with a dealer and see what can be done.

No.. I was just wondering that. Service here is so poor, I'm scared. that and getting into servco is a 2 week wait minimum.

I had the TSB done my 2009 last year. I traded it in recently for a 2011. I was able to get them to do the TSB to the new truck as well. I'm interested to see if they replace my shocks with Bilsteins again or not. They did for my '09, but the TSB has since been updated saying not to do that for 2009 and 2010 model years.

I TOLD HIM IT WAS NOT HIS CALL BUT MINE,,,and please dial Toyota Customer Service if there was a problem,,,THERE was not!! I love the new springs and shocks,,,I live on a farm and am use mine off road daily,,,it has more lift,,,and is a much better ride. I would get the dealerships name and then contact Toyota national,,,and let them straighten out the dealer!! best jim wva

I'm sure its been gone over, but... there's a lot of results. SO, the idea is that the 3 leaf pack MAY not be holding the listed weight, but it "should" so it has to show signs of failing before you can get it replaced? Like rubbed bump stops?
I've been known to push the limit of my truck's capacity in the past, and AALs tend to suck.. Wondering if this is something I should do.. or might need to do and should test.

I had the TSB done a couple months ago on my 2009 DC LB Sport. Even though the service advisor ordered new bilsteins for the rear the service manager said they could not install them because they had been omitted in the new TSB revision. I explained to him that I had been towing my car trailer with the truck and i brought the truck in because it always bottomed out the rear. My concern was that the sagging might of added additional stress to the rear shocks and that I wanted them replaced along with the leaf springs. They simply stated that because they weren't leaking they could not replace them under the TSB. I am sure that they will eventually wear out prematurely and by then my warranty will be over

if your springs are sagging with a trailer, I'm thinking you're not balancing and leveling your load. The load should be on the trailer axles, not your truck's... That's a draw bar.. not a lift. You'd still be in the hitches tolerance (for a class 3) but shouldn't need it. Move your car till you can lift the tongue with your hand and get the proper height receiver.

But the shocks should be within stroke tolerance all the way down to the bump stop. The rear shocks aren't the expensive ones to replace, so don't be too worried about it. If you see oil, feel chatter, get new shox.

Thanks for the useful info. I feel better about the shocks now. Everything being equal the TSB solved my trucks saggy bottom.

I am waiting of word from the dealer, they said that my vin# is not included on the TSB (I think is BS) I have a 2010 TRD sport LB (manf June 2010) with 3 leaf springs.

They inspected my taco and ordered the steering TSB part, just not the spring TSB. I told them to open a case with toyota and they are waiting for a response.

I sag with my motorcycle on the bed and hauling my 18" foot boat. will update as soon as I now what Toyota reply with.

see. this is what I'm talking about.

What do you mean "sag" do you mean you bottom out over 1" bumps? or the back end is lower. Cause that will happen.

We need to use the right words here. Motorcycle suspensions are set up with sag. Truck suspensions hmm.. fail? Bottom out?

The back of my truck looked like this with any decent load in the bed or car trailer properly hooked up. The problem was fixed after the TSB.

My old tacoma used to be on the bump stops with almost any load. But if there's a tsp to get firmer springs... beats aals.

I ought to come up with a reason to load my truck... IS the tailgate on the 2010 up to having a motorcycle ramp put on it or do I have to take off the tailgate to load a moto?
