Do you have a picture of it currently installed? I plan to install a TRD intake as well.

I'm in the same zip code as you waiting to install mine, doesn't look like you need help but I'm looking forward to your thread!

any regrets not washing the engine before starting? Looks like there is a lot of dirt that could fall in to parts that dirt isn't welcome.

Clean! looks so much better than not clean. I'll be cleaning mine up before the install. Just makes me cringe seeing the Mohave Desert or any other caking of filth under the hood. Yah it happens but after that comes a good cleaning. Especially before any under the hood maintenance.

This thread is disturbing to watch. Having an engine bay as dirty as yours would normally be enough to push me over the edge, you exasperate that by installing a precision performance upgrade, with the engine bay looking like that...

The truck will be just fine even if a bit of dirt gets in it. I run my rally car with rock screens only. It’s swallowed lbs of sand and the cylinder bores aren’t scored yet. A little dust won’t do anything to this Taco.

Just gotta be careful. It's fine. Working in a garage closed environment.

It's fine, don't worry about me. Your boxless K&N intake swallows more dirt than my install ever did - if it even did. Check your TB's. It probably has dust.

    Yup.

I beg to differ. As the instagrammers who got a denied warranty on his engine last year. He ran an aftermarket CAI and filter, ingested some fine dust and scored the bores. It was a big deal but Toyota stood firm. That guy was out almost $10K.
    Just food for thought.

Just finished up the install and updated the post. I took the truck out for a spin with the new TRD intake and as soon as I pressed on the gas pedal it felt different. The truck accelerates with a little kick in the seat and it's a very linear powerband all the way to the top of the RPM. You can really feel the difference in torque. I'll be taking the truck in for a dyno test and compare it against the previous dyno run I did with my OVTune.

Not sure honestly. I want to get a taller bed rack and upgrade my RTT next, but it's not mandatory. Maybe bigger tires now that I have more power. Black Friday deals may skew my mod path though haha.

Oh I did watch that video before I received my kit. Thanks for making that it was helpful!
By the way, the brass restrictor mod...does that affect drivability? Any harsh shifting?

Looking to get the kobalt XTR 1/2 driver to assist with the pulley bolt, do you think that will be to big to fit in there?

I just pulled the restrictor from mine the other day. Throttle response is much more sensitive but not overly so in my opinion.

Give it a try - see if you like it, and if not you can put it back in..

It's not like OMG ITS SO FAST, but it's a considerable amount of power increase. I'm going to be towing this weekend so I'll report back on that. Also I still plan on dynoing it.

It should fit. I had maybe 2-3" of space before I hit the radiator.
