I highly recommend the high angle boots CVJ provides.

Threw on the bed stiffeners from Rago I had, then had a fitment issue with the new tail lights so had to run to Ace for different hardware. Also was tried to get blinkers back since they've been out for a while. After I drilled new holes for the blinker and installed them did I find out they sent me 01-04 side markers :annoyed: so when these go out in the future I'll make sure I get the right ones

Guess I never posted this from back in 2019 :anonymous: Went to Coppingers Cove and was an idiot, this is what helped burn up my clutch and what caused the sound deadening.

Did water get into the bellhousing and contaminate the clutch?

I think so, clutch was fine until that trip. I could feel it starting to slip a bit and then once or twice I could smell an awful smell. Since I replaced the clutch everything has felt fine more or less

Interesting. Yea I never really thought about how water can enter those breather ports in the bellhousing during a water crossing.
I generally try to avoid water crossings though.

Oof. I did this once upon a time. Toasted my starter, alternator, and flooded the front two floorboards

Basically what happened to me except the alternator. Starter was funky so I rebuilt that, clutch was starting to slip and would leave a horrible smell after every drive.

You rebuilt the starter? I didn’t know that was possible. Wish I knew that years ago!
