Netflix cancelled MindHunter after just 2 seasons :( apparently it's budget was too high for the viewership it was getting. Lame

I didn't understand how it could have such a big budget at first but then remembered it's a period piece show taking place in the 70s, and they do a great job of setting up every scene like it took place then. I'm sure that adds up quick.

Was hoping the article would mention they were looking at other networks but it didn't. Said all the actors were released from their contracts, so even if the show did get picked up elsewhere the actors may not be the same.

It's a shame cause it was a great show and really just getting started

We watched ‘The Staircase’ documentary... that Durham County DA office is corrupt! Same DA office who wrongfully incarcerated the 3 Duke lacrosse players in 2006.

Prospect. Complete garbage set and special effects. Good storyline. The guy is the Mandolorian.

Mandalorian Season 2 Ep 2 very good

TWD World Beyond. Not sure I will make it. Too teenybop. But latest episode is good

TWD Fear. Very good. Better than original IMHO

Methinks they continue with the teen angst. I want to see him start poking juicy ones with the sharp end of the croissant wrench!

I started watching this one without knowing anything about it. I think it was the first seen with the DA team, when this guy with a bad haircut is smirking in a quite unprofessional manner about the case, and I'm thinking "what a dick". It then occurs to me he looks familiar...then I notice he is referred to a Mike...and then I'm like where does this take place again...oh, sh*t it's that dirtbag Nifong before he was DA. A total nest of vipers. If you google the history of all the DA team members, all but the DA get thier karma in the end. The DA is a judge now, and basically untouchable, but there's hope he gets his too eventually.

As for recent views on Netflix that are worth noting:

The Magicians is generally pretty good as a nilistic version of Harry Potter. It shines best when it's focused on Fillory and its parodying of fantastical worlds. The rabbit form of communication always made me crack up.

Prospect was decent for a low budget sci-fi flick, but not to the level of The Expanse.

The King turned out to be much better than I thought it would be. Its telling of history is fair and straight and doesnt try to grind some modern day memes into the plot like every Prime show does. One of the few films lately that a guy can get into, without having to put up with crap that was stuffed in to appeal to the female demographic.

Away, on the other hand, was a complete disapointment. Started off with a lot of promise, and then quickly turned into a soap opera that would be better suited for the Halmark channel. Why can't guys have shows about subject matter that interests them be for guys anymore?

Skylines, a German series about rap and mafia was really good. Could have been derivative, but ended up being pretty fresh.

Fauda started off really good, but quickly became derivative and predictable.

@pinem56, I watched the first episode of 'Away'. What a let down! I wont watch any more episodes, all that drama in episode 1, I can only imagine what the remainder of the show would be. Agreed, it should be on Lifetime or Hallmark...

The Right Stuff series done by Warner/National Geographic on Disney Plus is pretty good. It is based on the book but better than the 83 movie in IMHO. Maybe a bit much drama, but entertaining.

Been wondering about that one, added to my list along with Season 2 of Mandalorian. Currently re-watching Cosmos - A Spacetime Odyssey on Disney plus. Still so good.

It’s good. I think this might be my 4th time watching it the last few years. I’m also reading a book called death by black hole by Neil degrasse Tyson.

"Queen's Gambit", I don't even play chess but this show sucked me in.

"My Octopus Teacher", amazing underwater cinematography with quite the story.

    Both on Netflix

    I liked Queens gambit.

Not heavy on chess at all but fun to see how serious the game is.
