Wasn’t sure all the weller I’ve seen in the wild fetch a pretty penny . Never seen that one floating the amber currents near me

It’s going to be overpriced most anywhere that’s not a state-ran ABC store. The Sazerac/Buffalo Trace/Stitzel Weller group puts out great bourbon in the MSRP price range, but a lot of people decided to go crazy on Weller and what not.

How is a tale of cake? Been eyeing it a bit just because I want to try it. Looks like a fine cigar as well

I’m not much of a drinker. Definitely not a drinker of fine whiskey....

My favorite whiskey is made in the woods and comes in a mason jar!

Never had the EHT barrel proof, but that Elijah 18 is some seriously tasty bourbon. Better than the 23 in my opinion. I've never seen more than one in the wild at a time.

How do you like the Glenmorangie? I finished off my bottle a few weeks ago.

I had the EHTBP last week. It was good, I expected more kick but it was a freshly opened bottle.
My first taste was pretty mellow, but after letting it rest - the barrel proof qualities showed a little more

No shit, right?! State controlled liquor stores both suck and are awesome at the same time.

Had to bribe my dad into standing in line for several hours for me.

I have a lead on one in the city for just over double what I paid for this one ($69.99 plus tax), but still far less than secondary. Just can't make it to the store until tomorrow...

I was limited to 1 bottle. Each store got 2 of 4 bottles by random. The possible 4 bottles were EHT Barrel Proof, EHT Single Barrel, Weller FP, and EC18. EHT Barrel Proof was at the top of my list and I'm happy to get my hands on one.

I posted the above photo to my local whiskey group, with no information at all.
The amount of message requests I'm getting is crazy.

Several of the people in my local group were at the event so they were at least aware of how I got my hands on my stuff. Some of the other non-local groups on the other hand... I’m still receiving messages and comments asking how much I would sell the Pappy for, or what I’d want to trade for the Weller FP. Probably most of the attention has been to the Old Forester Birthday. I’m not selling any of it though. Just glad to have my hands on some hard-to-get stuff

I’ve never been a collector. I buy expensive electronics to use and abuse, I buy nice cookware and knives to make cooking easier, and I buy good liquor (at retail price) to share with friends and family!
