Yea I got Mikes harness and it works perfectly. All you need to know is that the low beam connector is the plug that only has 1 wire, the high beam has 2. Nothing else can really be hooked up wrong.

and you do t even have to make it that complicated. Wire colors match up perfect

I don’t know, my harness looked like a bunch of random coloured wires. They were both totally different, but the end result was the same.

The confusing thing is that you have connectors with two wires (OEM harness) and mikes only has one wire in connectors that can take two wires but only have one. So if you match everything up by deductive reasoning its fairly foolproof.

Honestly the dealership installed the headlights and harness when I got my truck and didn’t charge me for labour, so I’m just assuming it was easy. Haha. The lights perform great though.

It is red, pink, tan, Lgreen, black and white for the driver's side. The conversion harness wire colors match up with the original harness wires.

It is Lblue, blue, blue, green, black and yellow for the passenger side. Easier to see the matching colors.

The only one I couldn’t get actually matched was the ground, which mine is black and the factory is white/black tracer. But I figured black is a “universal” color for ground. Lol

The Morimoto harness from TRS has the low beam connector wired incorrectly, the polarity is reversed. You have to de-pin the connector on the brand new harness and swap the wires for the polarity to match up to the factory connector. It’s easy to do but absolutely ridiculous that Morimoto lets this this problem persist with so many reports of it happening. Just scrap the whole idea and buy this harness. I bought the Morimoto harness because I was impatient and the thing is a piece of shit, the gaskets suck and it’s very cheaply made. Just buy you harness from Mike, support a small business and fellow TW member and get a better quality harness!

I thought the harness is made by TRS themselves?

Any other Canadians have these lights and harness? I’m just wondering if your “C” DRLs stay on with the headlight switch selected to park lights, when you turn your fog lights on.

Oh, that is good to know. Back then when no one had a harness yet, TRS said they were in the process of making one. So I assumed it was them that was making it.

Surprising, cause i find Morimoto's other wiring harnesses to be off good quality. Then again, it is not too surprising as making a harness for an OEM product isn't beneficial to them in any way. It is basically making an adapter for a competitor's headlight, you make chump change off the wiring, but they bank off the new headlight sale.

I do very much wonder what the profit is on these OEM LED headlights for Toyota. Of course that's super hard to calculate b/c to do it fair you have to factor in the R/D on the design but it would be illuminating to know what the profit is per unit based on cost to manufacture.

Morimoto harness gaskets vs OEM gaskets. Enough said.

If you get it as an option on a 2020, isn't only around $500? I would take a guess that anything after that is a majority profit.

I have the TRS harness and it's works but the hi and lo beam connectors are definitely wired backwards. I just flipped them 180 and secured them with some electrical tape. In hindsight I should have purchased Mike's.
