    Hello audio guys,

    I bought a JL C2 525 component system for my 2002 Tacoma

    https://www.crutchfield.com/S-6nGdNmmkX6m/p_136C2525/JL-Audio-C2-525.html

The stock audio system is 6x8 door woofers and I don't know if there are tweeters. Anyways, I am installing two subs in a huge custom box for my back row. In changing from the stock 6x8 door woofers to the 5.25 speakers and 3/4 tweeters, will I be screwing up my staging? Meaning will the 5.25 speakers put out less bass than the 6x8s to the front? I don't think I'm making any mistakes with this audio upgrade but just wanted to be sure.

Going from stock to C2s you shouldn't be making any sacrifices. Sealing up the doors will help a lot with midbass, but you aren't going to rip the doors apart with 5.25 C2s no matter how hard you try. I play my sub a little high to help out there (using 5.5"s) - lets me play the midwoofers louder than I could crossed lower. I doubt your staging will suffer compared to stock...especially if you're using DSP.

def will be better than stock. I prob would have gone 6.5 but the 5.25 will be crisp. Like previous post the bass will not be there but sealing up the door will do it justice big time. I just swapped in 6.5 for the stick 6x9. Good sound lacked bass but did the doors and much better

When you say bass won't be there in my mids, is that going to be noticeable when running two 10" subs in my back row?

You’ll be good if you got the bass already. I usually cut out a lot of the low on a crossover anyway when I run subs. You will want some power and sound dead the doors for the mid bass.

Going with a 6.5 in 1st gen doors will probably require cutting metal and making up a custom set of adapters. It can be done, but it's a commitment.
