    Hey there,

For those of you who have installed Cali Raised 25 degree sliders on a 3rd gen DCSB, I'm wondering if you had the same hiccups as me. I'm sure the Tacoma factory has tolerances on its frames and Cali Raised has its own tolerances on the sliders so totally understandable that things may not match up and I'm not mad about it! Just want to share my experience.

    1) On the passenger's side, when I had the bottom 14 mm bolt in place (the bottom bolt you install first to hold the slider in place on the frame), I couldn't get the very frontmost bolt to fit through the slider and frame (I'm talking about the forward-most bolt that goes through the front backing plate that has the handle). With that bottom 14 mm bolt in place, the slider was just a few mm too far back to get that first bolt in (but all other bolts were good). So my dilemma was this: install the bottom 14 mm bolt and don't install that frontmost bolt, or vice versa. I ended up opting not to install the 14 mm bottom bolt and installed the frontmost bolt into the front backing plate. I did this because it was a beefier bolt and actually 1 of 5 main horizontal bolts that holds the slider to the frame. That bottom bolt seemed less structurally important in my opinion. Here are some pics of those bolts:

    2) On both passenger's and driver's sides, I had to do a little angle grinding of the frame (on the order of mm's) in order to get the spacers that go on the clamp bolts to fit. Not a huge deal, but wondering if anyone else ran into that issue. Here are some pics of those clamp bolts:

Any similar experiences out there, or do I just suck? Truck is a 2020 DCSB TRDOR

    Cheers!

I want to reiterate that these sliders are an awesome product and hard to beat with the 15% off sale right now (especially if you're local to SoCal and can save $160 by picking up)! Just want to get some feedback on the install.

FYI Cali Raised got back to me and said in this situation skipping the bottom 14mm bolt is the right way to go since the front bolt is much more important!

Already got some use out of the sliders in Borrego this weekend (my dog was not amused)

I had the same issue with the front bolt as well. Die grinder and carbide bit, opened up the hole on the frame just a bit and bolted it up. You do need a good bit. Used a cheapy at first, it barely scratched the frame.

Edit: Forgot to mention, these sliders are awesome! I was concerned about the strength going with bolt on vs weld on. I've punded on these pretty good on the rocks recently and they don't budge. I do highly recommend kick outs. I went with the straights and first time out ended up with body damage just behind the rear door and the bed. Kick outs I think would've prevented these. Lesson learned.

My son and I got ours installed this weekend. Passenger side was going so smooth. Front bolt was "in" I thought until I started the tightening sequence. My entire arm was pushed into frame so I could push that front bolt closer. So close, so incredibly close but gave up. I could see the nut but no matter what I could not get a thread started. I AM using the other smaller bolts to fill any holes remaining. So all bolts are in but the front most bolt.

If I read this right, I'll loosen everything back up on passenger side, remove 14mm bolt, start the FRONT bolt FIRST then work may way to the second? May have to wait for left arm to heal first!

@texas angler yeah I ended up just supporting the slider with a jack and installed all the bolts except the bottom 14 mm. or you can do it like @PThy and open that bottom hole on the frame a little bit if you really wanted to have that 14 mm bolt in there...

Thank you. Month or so before our trip so I have some time to get this knocked out.
