Brotha you ain't kidding. Loose terrain on the old bike was like getting a cat into water.

Yes sir! I rode out to Pothole Arch for the first time ever... I had never been there in 20+ years of riding in Moab?!? I decided to make it a day of firsts by dropping in on the wall (of the wallride), did the wallride and rode Rockstacker to Jackson's out. First time on all of that stuff and happy to report that I rode it all with maybe 2 or 3 dabs. Super stoked!! I think it's way more fun than Ahab.

Anyone have a 40mm stem they’d wanna sell for cheap (thinking $50 or less)? Will be going on 35mm clamp bars.

Potentially open to 35/45 lengths as well.

My winter project got done early as I just couldn't wait to ride it. It's a 1964 Schwinn that I bought from someone selling it as yard art. I built the wheels myself and assembled the bike. The fork is a new Surly Bridge Club fork and I plan on putting a disc brake up front sometime. Total investment is around $600 and it's a blast to ride, even a little terrifying. I did put a larger cog in the back since I took the below photo just to lower the gearing a little for trail riding. A buddy of mine got the honor of having the first crash on it in the following video.

The cranks were used and they came with a crummy caged bearing bb so I used it. The bars are Surly Sunrise bars. I've been using them on my trail bikes all summer.. Love them!! It's mostly going to be a town bike but the first ride was trail riding. We're putting on a klunker race in the Spring so this was a 'proof of concept' that it was possible without dying type of ride.

I dunno.... I’m 45 and in as good or better shape than I was 10 years ago. Recovery time is a little longer these days but not by much.

    I hate you.

PS that thing is sweet. I want to set up a commuter bike to ride to and from work next year. In theory, it would be about a 40 minute ride. It's a 15 minute drive anyway. Might give it a whirl.

I’ll dig around, see what I can find.

    LOVE the clunker! One day.

That’s awesome man. I’m in better shape, but shit don’t heal and falling hurts way more than it used to.
