    Hey, also, VERY random, but....

Anyone have an old cannon? Our town is building a veterans' memorial, and when I stopped by town hall to chat yesterday, they mentioned they are looking for a cannon. I am assuming they want one from an American war, and from the American side.

hoping to hear that. Dreaming up a Chevy 63 swap with some 12” travel shocks. Looks like all the Ford and dodge owners have 4-6” lift kits that have an 12” shocks. Something like 32” extended 21” compressed. Found a pair for $50... I can’t imagine valves are expensive...

I use a ratchet strap and that usually holds it just fine. My 52 held enough food for 3 days/2 nights for 3.5 people (1 person showed up later) and had plenty of room for some beers. I like it but it's hefty when it's just me and most of my future camping will be just me. Things hold ice awesome! My last trip helped that it was 7 degrees in the morning and overnight was nice and chilly, but I had a 5lb bag that lasted from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon when I got home. I've seen some direct tie downs for the yetis but it holds it semi permanently, and not sure if it can be fabbed up for the knock offs.

I usually fill it with firewood. But a PITA is also getting to it when it's packed in there and tied down. I want to put it in a bed toolbox so no need to worry about tie downs, anything. And I can store some cast irons and other shite in there too. Plus space for snow brushes in the winter :D

Yeah, I don't have a bed mat, I know those work well for it. I like to have something stopping it from going up though, as unlikely as it is. I'm over-cautious about stuff in my bed being tied down.

+ the smaller one is easier to stash in the cab somewhere if needed, or when I stop and am hiking for 9 hours it's (a) out of the sun and (b) locked up. Bed toolbox will help with those two things too. Maybe I'll just suck it up and have two  I'm sure my wife would be a HUGE fan of that! :bananadance:

I just used a ratchet strap and the handles to keep it in place. I'd do the same thing in the super duty

Every so often I’ll fire up a cannon, but typically it’s not worth the time to roll one.

Could try the ham radio thread. Not that everyone in ham radio has a cannon BUT I feel like the central part of a Venn diagram of ham radio owners and cannon owners overlaps more than a northeast bs thread and cannon owners would overlap.
