Thanks for that. It’s always a bit unnerving ordering from a company without first hand knowledge.

If gettin an assembled upper, be sure to double check the barrel nut. The one I ordered for my father was loose enough that I unscrewed it with my thumb and index finger.

Looks like I’ll need to pick up a barrel wrench, an upper-receiver action block, and a bench-mounted vise. :annoyed:

Stopped by sportsman’s and they had a 2 box limit and 2 boxes of 6.5. I figured it was meant to be.

Academy had some 9mm and 5.56. Limit 3 total. I picked up 2 boxes of brass FMJ 9mm and 1 box of defense JHP. Not much but when your hungry, it’s better than nothing.

Academy is across the street, stopped there as well. They had some 17’s and that was it. I’m pretty sure we have more guns than they had for sale.

I made the mistake of saying I need to come back later in the afternoon to buy more to another guy there. The clerk heard me and said per person per day. I should have gone get my wife to buy more.

Replaced my gun vice with another basic one but a little nicer. This ought to make cleanings easier.

and other toys fit as well

Understood. I was thinking personal use. As in spray and pray. ;) Some folks I know have went nuts buying ammo at exorbitant prices, then loading up 30rd mags and shooting them as fast as they can. For a dollar a pop!!!! I enjoy dumping a whole mag at times, but not now. It was ok way back when on Uncle Sam's dime. Set that selector on rock n roll, keep that weapon pointed downrange Pvt, and pull the trigger. Yessir! awfuck, more pushups after training. Don't call a Drill Sergeant SIR. They work for a living. ;)

I didn’t buy it yet but have been looking at the Savior Equipment SBR travel case in 24” size. I can’t seems to find a hard case that works for me. Does anyone have any experience with Savior Equipment products?

Rifle in the first pic is a Browning A-bolt in .308 with a Leupold 3-9x50 optic. My favorite deer rifle. I really ike the vice so far it holds the rifles very securely and the base has a nice tray area to hold tools and cleaning supplies. It also wasn't very expensive

I have the one linked below 30" case. Fits the SBA3 AR pistol 10.5" barrel with flash can.

I like it, seems built well

I have the gray one. My 12" AR pistol with the Law Tactical folder just barely fits. I use it instead of a rifle bag when we travel to one of my work destinations that just so happens to have a 300 yd outdoor range. It could pass for a tennis bag, so it doesn't catch much attention. It's well built.

A midwest industries side mount rail for the AK. Gonna test it with a cheap sightmark red dot I have laying around. Then if it goes ok the hunt will be on for a decent red dot and maybe a magnifier. Also a mag spring for one of my old AR mags.
