Correct, the zip of files Mat gave me was for `04B81 v2.0 Final VFT` for my 2016 tacoma. Am I supposed to have received a different set of files?

If it helps, here's my calibration info:

    Code:
    Calibration: 8966304B1000
    Calibration file: 89663-04B10
    Part Number: 89661-04K60

Yeah those are the wrong files for your truck (04b81 is a newer model year). I’d recommend applying the TSB to upgrade your truck to 04b14. Reply back to mat that you received the incorrect files and need the files for 04b14.

Applying the TSB is easy and HIGHLY recommended, especially on the 16/17 trucks. All the information and files you need are found here
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/

I’ve done this as have many others like @tonered, @MOC221_, @mZiggy and others. Plus then if I you want to get in on vF edits, we are all using 04b14 so its easier to assist all being the same calibration.

@INT.EGRATED Like Shellshock said, update to the newest ECU version for sure
Might I add that you should seriously consider putting a charger on the battery when you update to 04B14 because updating to the newest ECU through TS can brick your ECU if it runs into any issues. Flashing different tunes through VF is safe as Mat has made it brick proof but TS is a different deal altogether. Don't get me wrong, it's generally safe to use TS, but eliminating possible failure issues would be smart and low battery is a known issue to cause bricking.

yep it's on a slow charger right now, and I'll probably leave it on the charger while updating through TS, battery tester shows `GOOD-RECHARGE`at 73% health.
will update to 04b14 afterwards, already emailed Mat just waiting for a reply with the tune for it.

I have 16, on 04b04! Running 2.0 final. Didn't know there was 04b14. Am I suppose to switch?

@honey, With your heavy, lifted, geared truck, you need to try one of @Mooseditty17 's most recent tunes. Or get with him or me to make you a custom tune specifically for your tire size, gears, and performance.

what's the rest of your truck setup? tire size, estimated total added weight. That sounds about what i'm getting around town on a good day (15~16) (highway 16~18). i'm on 5.29 33 performance tune. heavy 285's and about 400lb added weight and live where there's lots of hills.

Sounds good. I think I could use one. Still have a hard time with 6th gear with any incline or headwind or towing for sure. The 19800 seemed best. Am on 2.0 4.88. 35" thx. 91 octane. Always use premium, 91 or 93 whatever available! Would love to upgrade if someone can help! Just put on new shoes. Trying the new Toyo at3's 285 75 17.

with 35’s and 4.88’s you will always have an issue with 6th.

I have 32’s (255’s) with 4.88’s and it’s almost perfect (have 265’s too). Anything more in tire size and it’s exponentially increased (decay) every inch of tire as far as lag and gear holding

Question is what’s the best tune for this set up? Thanks for the help guys. This is gonna be though for me since I’m already confused. Lol....

I'm sure you are correct! I think I was first to regear, and was no 5.29 at the time!:(

    nothing in your spam?
we have honestly been having tons of email issues lately.

Speaking of that, we have been having a lot of orders lately, but are still getting back to people generally same day / next morning.

If anyone here is expecting an email but not seeing it please check your spam folder, until we get this email problem resolved. Tons of people seem to not be seeing our email responses but we are definitely sending them.

If you are expecting a vF Tuner master key, please check spam folder. If you have gmail it will end up there without a doubt. We do not know why.

No, nothing. That's the first place I'd check (systems engineer so I ask my end users the same...way too often :D ) I signed up again today. I sent you my email over dm both gmail and corporate, happy to do some testing with you if that helps you sort anything out.

dumb question- I ordered the vftuner and the 3.5L tune pack. Now that I’ve sent in my ECU ID, I’m assuming the tune pack is supposed to be emailed to me? Or is there a shared drive somewhere that I overlooked? Thanks for the help!

I am curious if you can use the Account History page on your site to post Master Keys, REG files, and Tune Pack download links? It should be pretty easy to get folks pointed there?
