Rod folder, was just wondering if the bracket will work with the cross member. Wasn't sure if anyone had used something like it.

I thought I replied to this thread way back when the OP posted it. I didn't see it here so maybe that was another thread. At that time I has just gotten a Hooke right after the time some of the original problems with hardware, and coating (i.e. rust) were being discussed. I can tell you today about a year later I have zero problems with this rack. Hardware is still clean, no rust on the powder coat, everything lines up and stays fixed. I even hooked up the free trail lights that came with it. Not the greatest lights but they do the job and they've stayed water proof (which was another complaint I'd heard). My only beef, and it's a small one, is that on the highway at about 70-80 mph (thank you ECT), it tends to be a bit noisy...but so are all racks. Pinsu looks slicker, but Hooke gets the job done. Satisfied customer.

You might as well tell us how you mounted everything and what box you have on there cause someone will ask. Not to mention, it looks great man

Thanks. All pretty simple....It's a Pelican box and it's mounted on 6 (3 on each side) bolts that are simply placed in the pre-cut holes Hooke already provides in the cross bars. It holds all the off road stuff, tow straps, traction mats, etc. Same with the hi-lift jack......no drilling of any holes. I used the bolts that came with the jack, they have holes for small padlocks. The Gas mount is not fully bolted on, but the two bolts that the base are connected with are very solid....again, no drilling needed. I wired the lights from dashboard socket with regular "lamp wire" under the passenger and floor mats, under the back seat out a hole I drilled behind the passenger seat then run the wire up under the back window trim and up to the first light on the back corner of the lamp....then string the other three boxes on each corner. It's kind of "make due with what you got" and I know it's not the most efficient use of space up there. When we camp I strap our Kodiak tent in the space next to the jack. Not perfect but it all frees up space in the bed. I can send pics of the mount points if you want. I don't drive around with all that stuff up there unless going we're off-road, just the bolts fixed in position. Thanks

    Hey!

First post on this form, i bought the rack from Amazon 2 days ago (Im in Canada) so should arrive by the end of the month. My question is regarding the lights, how is wind noise with them on and how was installing them with the wire, thoughts on wire placement? Also i saw a post on thi form with the same light pods mounted on the bed of the truck , anyone have a link for those mounts?

PS Ill throw an install video up when it does arrive. Happy wheeling

Cheers from the great white north !!!

Can’t really answer your questions, but I definitely recommend taking the lights apart and properly sealing them before using them

My rack came in today, no numbers, black hardware, fin cut out, and not damaged during shipping. Super happy with the quality so far, it feels high quality. I’ll install it tomorrow and post the results with a full review for everyone!

Pretty impressed for the price, definitely a heavy rack. I stood on top of it and felt super strong. Let me know if anyone had any questions

I was able to mount my awning by drilling two holes that worked perfectly. No issues at all.

Just installed the rack this weekend. I couldnt handle the sound. Moved things around and it still had a loud roar above 40mph. Thought of putting sound deadening material in the head liner? I saw a few people pulled the front air deflector and put a light bar in its place. They said it was nearly quiet after that. Took mine off and wow it sounds pretty livable. I like the looks of the front air deflector but cant handle it I guess.

Reguarding the people that have roof mounted light bars, how bad is the glare from the front hood when the bar is illuminated? I do have flat black vinyl on my hood scoop for sun glare. Iight bar is not something id use all the time so a little glare is better than a loud roar sound all the time.

I couldn't handle the sound with mine either. Count yourself lucky that it quieted down even after you removed the front... mine was still bad and I ended up selling it.

Does Hooke make these or are you asking if someone tried putting bars from other companies? Because I would be interested in possibly changing two out if someone has!
