What kind of kayak did you have? I currently have a BPS/Ascent 10t. Been mostly wading these days.

The only benefit is of this whole COVID stuff is the drastic reduction in miles I’m putting on the taco - went from 2000 miles/ month to 2000 miles since March

    @Bluegrass Taco

    Sure, here is the details:

Roosters of Shelbyville Rd. (In corner of Shelbyville Road and Moser Rd.)

September 12th at 5pm. In the party room in back.

We can chat, drink, and eat... FYI: We can chat and drink outside in the alley that way, we can let others who just show up to eat inside so we can go outside in the alley to chat/drink. If it rains, I will ask the owner of Mr G (next door to Roosters) to setup the shade tent for us for rainy weather. They have it for events such as basketball season, football, birthdays, etc.

Arrive before 5pm in order to claim your parking space in the back. If it is full, you can park out front or side. The back parking lot usually is empty before 5pm. Lot of people go to Roosters that use front parking lot on the left of CVS store. I park mine in the back lot. You can park in back or front where you see the red circles in the map. You can park in side lot if other lots are full. Here is a map so you can see what I am talking about:

    roosters.jpg

Please note: Make sure to bring the mask so you need it when you go to restroom and entering/leaving the building. You don't need it when eating or drinking. No masks needed for chatting/drinking outdoor as well.

Let me know if you have questions. Hope to see you there!

I am sorry that I missed your post. [kicking the forum notification]

I had Old Town Trip 10. The bottom sucks because it keeps wobbling from the water. This kayak is so thin.

My parents have kayaks that were made early 2000s which they were thick and heavy. I hope to get them as soon as they move to nursing home which is hopefully soon.

I will get a new fishing kayak, maybe early spring.

Anyone have any recommendations for camping near Louisville? GF and I are going to be in town for a few days and am looking for a nice spot. Prefer if the grounds have hot water/flush toilets for the Gf. Also going to mammoth cave so I guess something on the south side of Louisville might have the best geographical location? Since we’ll be also hit some distilleries.

    Nothing...yet
I would check out My Old KY Home campground. Not a very exciting campground with epic views or anything but right in the middle of Bourbon country and a few minutes from Historic Bardstown KY places to eat, shop, etc. Not sure what distilleries are still doing tours, could be a mixed bag on that. If Makers is open, that is one of the better run tours.

There's a decent KOA campground at Shepardsvile exit (then east a mile) exit 117 (?) Off I-65....

My Old Kentucky Home State Park is more laid back .

    Several camps in/around "cave country".
