Nah. PA law is annoying with who can and can't sell alcohol.
Tired of not having batteries or not being able to find them.

Nah, welcome. The seppos have no clue that we’re all part of the pre-invasion.

Modern fabrics typically out perform waxed fabrics. Although, I will say this waxed fabric hat is a favorite of mine.

I do not disagree that new synthetic materials have surpassed materials like waxed canvas or cotton by miles.

What I am fascinated by is the tenacity of the explorers 200 years ago, and the history of the best materials at hand 200+ years ago.

Maybe I’ll buy a waxed jacket some day or retrofit one of my old jackets.

I started climbing in the 60's. Ventile cotton was the bomb for anoraks. Tightly woven of loosely spun yarn, the yarn would tighten up when damp from snow or light rain and become tighter in the tight weave, not leaking too much. Sounded better than it worked and it was not inexpensive so the modern fibers and blends began taking over in the 70's.

Agree until you get into durability as the heavy duty fabrics can take a beating.

Lots of videos on youtube on making tin pants. A trip to the thrift store and an afternoon or two would probably get you pretty close.

Might be worth trying on thrift shop cloth that is close to the jacket I want to do. I have some old REI pants I could try it on since they were khaki but are more orange after a few years.
