So funny story time.

When my daughter was 6, she went home to Canada with the ex. She got back to my place on the 26 th of December at about 1 am or so. The tree was set up anxiously awaiting her return. All that was under the tree was a stocking and a couple of boxes of chocolates. On top of the stocking was a set of keys. She was excited for Christmas. She runs to the tree and sees basically an empty tree. I see the down trodden expression on her face. She asks if this is everything. I said yes. But I said let's look at that stocking. She takes the keys and basically throws them over her shoulder. She quickly goes through the stocking with little interest of anything in there. Sadly she asks if that's it. I replied, well, what about those keys ? Where do you think they will fit. She suddenly remembers that I had locked her room 3 months prior to start decorating. We run upstairs to test the keys to the door. She walks in and turns on the light and her smile was as wide as the grand canyon. I had decorated her room in Disney Princess. There was 8 different colors of paint. 2 new sleigh beds and matching dresser with disney princess bedding. Pictures, lamp, switch plate cover. I even changed the carpet to a beautiful pink. Each bed was covered with presents. Her dresser was covered in presents. The floor was covered in presents. Had to be the best Christmas I remember with her.

Love those memories.
