I did the same with my 2020. Worked out the final price, put a deposit down, and took a little road trip the following week to pick it up. To be fair, I had two other 3rd gens before this one, so I knew what I was getting into lol.

My 2020 has been the best one yet.

Yeah I know. With my old Gen 2, I didn't find myself considering any of that though.

Had a Gen 2 - SR5, AC, V6 MT - only weak point was the transmission/clutch. After it got beat to hell in a hail storm I traded it in on a Gen 3 TRDOR DCSB AT V6. Have to say after 61 months of ownership the Gen 3 is better than the Gen 2. Sure they all have issues and TSB's. Only thing I say that made the Gen3 preform to my standard was OVTune / vF Tuner. Fixed all the drunk monkey shifting issues Toyota sold these trucks with. If I still had the Gen 2 I'd be looking for a SC - probably will down the road in the Gen 3 just because neither have the power of a V8. GL.

Yup. Had emailed a few dealers to find one. Was actually looking for an OR DCSB MT, which I found out isn't available up here. A guy at the Kelowna dealership kept trying to make something work, kept on it, so I thought wtf, he's working for it so gave him the sale. Great first drive home!

Got lucky on the allocations, was only a 4-5 weeks from deposit to delivery. I saw the exact twin of mine showed up in Cranbrook same weekend, was gone fast. Must have been same shipment.

They’re in the shed until spring. Got some Yokohama winters going on the Sport wheels this weekend.

Oh man nice. That was a nice drive, lots of hills and views are amazing.

I went to kelowna and needed like 4.5k rpms on some hills, but i was going 150, not the whole time of course. This truck is not very aerodynamic i noticed. Still love my taco, even more now with the tune!

Haha that's nutty. The Coq on a good day is as good as a drive gets. Bad day with ice/snow, as bad as it gets.

Did you drop thr VF tune in?

Yep, im running the 91 SFOB. Great tune, feels like 30% more power and gas mileage is the same.

Getting rid of my 08 Tacoma was the biggest mistake I ever made. I do love my 4Runner, and have had some great adventures with it. But That truck was the BEST vehicle I have ever owned, hands down.

Nice. I was on the fence for like a year. My truck actually drove great, good power and none of this hesitations/stuttering. I decided to try it, since all MT guys rave about it and man the truck really wakes up with the tune. I love it and find every excuse to drive it now.

PM me if you have any questions about it.

I just created a thread about this issue. I have a 2021 4x4 6spd manual as well. I was going to take it to the dealership to get it checked out but don't want to waste time if it's a normal thing.

It might be normal. It’s probably not intended to be normal though. Haha.

This ^, the 3rd Gen uses the exact same cab as a 2nd Gen but its built with high strength steel.
