    Hello,

I am new here and a brand new taco owner
I had purchase some new bp 51s from someone and had a local shop put them on
but i noticed one thing and that was the passenger side is 1 inch higher than my driver side.
anybody know what the issue is and if something during the installation they might of missed ?
i am a total noob at this.

Tacoma’s have a lean to the drivers side, you can adjust your BP51s to even this out.

My guess/question would be that they were set for the taco lean, and maybe they put them on the wrong side?

i am suppose to take the car back next week so they can try and solve the issue (which they dont know how is lifted one side)
will throw everybody's advice here to them and hopefully they understand.
sadly OME don't have any instructions manual at all.

Measure from Center of hub up to your fender both sides, then you will know exactly what the difference is.

Spring perch on one side may be upside down, or the spring is not seated properly in the top hat are the most common after installation

So the lean you are experiencing is known as tacoma lean, the driver side of a tacoma us significantly heavier than the passenger side, it has the battery, fuel tank, and driver all on one side.
BP-51s are set up front factory for this. One side is often 2-3 threads lower to increase preload on the driver side. If you are experiencing a significant increase in lean it mean the shop that installed them must have gotten the front coilovers mixed up.
To others In the forum, BP-51s come fully assembled and it's very unlikely that the spring seat is flipped, actually impossible. Second, the spring seat isn't adjustable by changing a clip position. That's for Bilstein 5100 style shocks. BP-51s adjust like a fox or king 2.0 or 2.5 coilover.

The name is similar but he's taking about Old Man Emu BP-51s as far as I can tell.

If you purchased the suspension used, I would recommend getting in touch with ARB and getting the factory settings for them. They may have been set up with a different bumper/winch or they PO have have messed around with the compression and preload adjustments. Making it not ride well for your set up.

Here is a visual comparison for those interested.
ARB Old Man Emu BP-51s. Set at factory threads on the passenger side.

Having installed dozens of both, there is a massive difference in the way you time the ride height and everything.

what upper control arms are you running?

(the SPC’s have an eccentric/adjustable ball joint. If grossly mis-assembled or mis-adjusted, it could mess you up)

hmmm, hard to get a reasonable alignment with stock upper arms...
