Yep, the grinder my grandpa used had a stuffer plate, he would mix in a little bit of pork and the sausage was delicious. Dads supposed to get the seasoning from the butcher in case we get a deer this year.

nice ! we use a seasoning and mix 4:1 deer to ground pork. we cook it in big cast kettles then season the kettles with lard and store them.

For $65 I probably would too lol.

I actually want to try this. I was actually planning on it if I got one down earlier when the temps were a little higher. Plus I'd probably have to if I Quartered and packed a deer out. Surprisingly we've been able to get out all our deer whole this year.

My dad, Traditional old school ranching hispanic, Cooked deer heart last year for us. It was awful. I've had it once before and I liked it. He completely ruined it for my wife lol. I would like to try it again this year.

So, my big 8 decided to show his face during daylight hours last Friday. Problem is, I was at my wedding rehearsal at the time he came out. So I hunted Saturday before the wedding. Nothing. Sunday we were out of town, obviously...the camera sent pictures to my phone at 9 and my damn 8 was in there at 7:15 that morning about 15 yards from my tree.

It’s not how I was raised either. Up until about ten years ago we processed our own. I got married, have two kids, own a convenient store, and my wife and I both work other jobs. Add all that together and we’re lucky to have time to hunt. If I pay someone to clean a deer and pick it up vacuum sealed I consider that awesome.
