So my parents Corolla was totalled! My sister was hit by an idiot in an old Ford truck that wasn't paying attention when she was stopped at the light, she is ok, she had some bruising on her chest, the air bag didn't deploy and some whiplash. He was going pretty fast and she was smart enough to have a good 5-6 ft between her and the car in front of her so she didn't end up under the SUV in front. Geez what an idiot...anyway since the corolla is a goner my parents had discussed getting a truck as their next vehicle since they do a lot of home improvement projects. And for my pops to carry some stuff to and from work. Unlikely to be used for towing, if they need it I have a tow package on my V6

They love my 2011 V6 prerunner but they would prefer the better mileage of the 4 cylinder. I looked around online and was able to find a 2011 Double Cab 4 cylinder, short bed, prerunner for $22031, is this a good deal?

Also found a Access cab 4 cyl prerunner for $20,262, I know the access cab has a longer bed so this would come in handy for them

And an Access cab 4 cyl for $19547

Very reasonable prices. I have a 4-banger access cab (but 4WD)...and I love it. It's a 2010 .....and I paid just over $23K for it with OR wheels and SR5 package.

Seems like good prices to me. I would think the double cab 4 cylinder would be rather slow, however. I guess that's what test drives are for though. Anyway, the prices seem more than reasonable...at least compared to the PNW.

Do they routinely need to haul 4 people around? If not, I would just say go for the access cab LB. I would hate having the SB.

They usually dont haul other people around, all of their kids (me and siblings) are all grown up so usually others aren't riding with them. I think the Access cab would be great for them, hell I really wanted one too but had a hell of a time finding one and really like the DC too. Ill be talking to them tomorrow so maybe I will find out what they decided.

It would be so great to have two Tacomas in the family :D especially if they get 4x4, I can borrow it when I go to Mammoth mountain haha!

I really don't think they care about speed with the consideration of the 4 cylinder and all. My parents don't seem to care about being the fastest or having the nicest vehicle, which I kinda do, go figure.
