Anyone had this done by their dealer? My 2010 has the noise, and unlike what they seem to do in the U.S [replace the motor or other things] here they offer an insulation kit. Just want to open some discussion on this for canadians, on their results, experiences etc. Thanks

    Wow! Funny story about this.

my 07 Tacoma is now on its 4th heater blower motor because of this. Nothing major and works fine it just kept randomly ticking and squeeking. (all replaced within 4 months under warrantee) And never had a problem since. I figured maybe the blowers had bad bearing issues?

    Edit: all before 39,000 km

Not sure of the tsb number, but is being done on Dec. 9,so will post the ### and results then. Seems the US forums have lots of posts on this, but I have yet to see anything about an insulating kit fix on there sites?? U.S tsb is a different #,so they say!!

Interesting,no replacement offered on mine.So are you noise free completely now? Was any tsb suggested on yours,or just warranty? Thanks, just want to open this discussion up a bit to see if others are aware or can add to this !Seems to be very prevalent on other forums, yet nothing here in Canada.

I read about a TSB for an insulating pad for the dash to get rid of unwanted differential whine. Wondering if they are just trying to find new applications for an existing kit?

I just had mine replaced friday. Didnt know there was a tsb until they called and said it was ready for me to pick it up, and mentioned there was a tsb for the blower motor.

Sound was pretty annoying though.. almost like the sound of a cd player trying to read a cd, and i could hear it even with the music up.

I just find it weird that in the U.S they are apparently replacing these, and have come up with an insulation kit here in Canada. Not any mention of a replace?? Thanks for your reply JLink, i suspect this item is another thing to keep up to date with?

Hello KJMC,sure sounds like another screw up on Toyotas part. I have owned 5 Toyota trucks to date, and never before this did I ever have a complaint!! Still love this truck, just think these forums are great sources of keeping each other aware.I am very picky, and sure hoping this noise is gone next thurs. and I am done with the issue. Although so far from what people are posting,I wont hold my breath. Take care, and thanks for your input.

Thats great, their not denying a problem it seems, just seems to be varying methods applied to the fix. If these are indeed fixes,or just bandaid repairs.Anyway not much we can do but accept these tsbs as they fall to us.Maybe a more permanent outcome will arise,as kjmc and BrokenTusk seem to have had theirs done more than once!!:(

The TSB fix is hit or miss as well. Many folks who have had the "improved" fan installed had the chirp come back. If you've ever had the chance to take apart the fan you can see for yourself that the deisgn begs for it to chirp and whine.

Wow I didnt know that. Guess we who are in this boat and others yet to experience this will have to wait it all out and see what Toyota comes up with in the long run.In the mean time these forums are great for keeping up on the issues that arise. Thanks :)
