    Howdy all

Has anyone had any significant issues with an iPhone not being recognized? I'd say two out of the last five times I've had to turn the truck off and back on for it to recognize my phone - not only would it not recognize the phone, but the phone wasn't charging. Today I noticed that it displayed a "USB Error" on the head unit. It's an iPhone X with the latest update and a newish USB cable. The first time it happened I rebooted the phone, but that didn't do it. Cycling the truck was the key and so far seems to be the solution every time.

Is it an Apple cable, or a third party? I've only had luck with OEM cables generally for both Android Auto and Carplay.

It's an Anker brand, but the same one I used w/o issue in my X1. I also have the Anker cables in our Honda Odyssey and haven't had any issues with it - at least not yet. I'll swap it out to see if it makes a difference, I was just curious if anyone else had seen this with any regularity

Anker cables should be fine, but I'd try an Apple one to be safe. These headunits are really particular for whatever reason.

Never had an issue, but I also have an apple charger that has been in there since day one

I’ve had really good luck with Ankers - I guess the good news is that the Apple requires a smaller hole as the Anker has a larger rubber piece around the lightening end.
