Who knows why... these exhaust threads always get flooded with ppl saying keep it stock or it doesn’t sound like a v8, don’t bother.

I just put a basic Walker on my 2000 4Runner sounds good, no rust after 2 years. The local shop did have to grid a bit to get it fit.

I agree, not just noise, but nice deep tone without drone. Gives the illusion of more power even though it doesn't. Looks good too.

We've installed many magnaflows and most of them sound very close to stock. The best flowmaster mufflers in my opinion is the any of the 40 series. Not too loud or quiet. It doesn't sound like a fart can like most aftermarket exhaust do. Both of my trucks had flowmaster mufflers and they sound as good if not better than other Tacoma's with a full aftermarket exhaust. majority of the aftermarket exhaust is literally the same exhaust as stock except with a smaller muffler and a tip that does nothing but look good. So for a fraction of the price your taco can sound pretty dammm good

One benefit of living in Florida, unless it's raining (which even then I have rain guards) my windows are always down and I love hearing the exhaust notes. Who needs AC! haha

That sounds good and looks even better. Reminds me of the somewhat rare Nismo exhaust that was available for the 1st gen Titan's. I have a good exhaust fab guy so will show him this and see what he can fab up for me.

My days of throwing aftermarket exhausts on anything other than 8 cylinders are way behind me. Sounds like absolute garbage to my 32-year-old ears. I was into that when I was 16-25 or so. I'd avoid that completely. It's just bad noise. Guy I know has a 3rd gen with some sort of aftermarket muffler. Sounds like crap, but I don't have the heart to tell him.

I agree with you 100%. This is my second Tacoma and I have the Magnaflow exhaust with the 40 series muffler. I wanted it to sound close to stock but with a little drone.

I'm assuming you got magnaflow first and then added the flowmaster muffler to increase the sound?

I had a TRD Pro pull next to me on the highway the other day and with my windows up, I could hear his exhaust humming.. I put the window down and let him pull away - I'll have to say, that's one good sounding exhaust for an extra hum.

I went with the magnaflow muffler, the flowmaster was a little louder.

I have an MBRP dual exhaust system, switched out the muffler for a Borla 1 in 2 out. Also have dual resonated tips. I enjoy the sound from my exhaust.

I have the Flowmaster 1 in 2 out and was thinking of getting the Borla muffler once this one is rotten, glad to see they make one.

I went with Borla had it installed for 50$ sounds good. The stock muffler weighs a ton. And had them mount it back far enough to make room for my 3 link rear suspension mod..... 34F40E72-83DF-4433-988E-105F486042E5.jpg

I replaced stock with a Magnaflow #12256 as a local exhaust shop suggested. Less expensive than what some are paying. Sounds good to me, better than stock, not too much. Made a couple of road trips and wife has not complained. But everybody has an opinion about what works best.
