    Fffuuuuccckkkk ABS

100% of all the older vehicles I've ever owned, if it was sold from the dealer without ABS, I would pull that shit out and run new lines. Never changed any other brake components, and they would stop just fine.

Disclaimer* I drive like a grandpa so I've never activated ABS (even in snow or inclement weather) even with it installed so results may vary

I'd love to get a blizzard like that this winter. Have a few extra days off from work. My house was built in 59 lucky it was a kit and built strong. Just the windows suck, all single pain.

that code will not allow cruise control to work.. and typically means you have no brake lights. but if you have brake lights, ignore it... shouldnt throw a light

I drive pretty god damn slow too, no snow here so there is that. Maybe wet roads but that’s about it

Funny you say that my cruise control has never worked.

I’m 99 percent certain all my brake lights work, If I can get a wheel speed sensor for cheap I’ll change it but If not I’ll pull the fuse as Bart recommended.

Im just trying to get rid of this ABS light. To be completely clear that 1249 code isn’t abs related if I understand you correctly ?

I'm leaving the one from my truck sealed under the seat. I have a normal first aid kit elsewhere.

Your truck came with a first aid kit? Whaaaat

The reason European cars have them is because it's part of the EU regulation.

i dont think it'll cause ABS issues, but you will want to possibly swap the brake light switch. the cruise control side of the switch might be bad

I've done a mod or two
Tried to yank the bed off my truck, broke off a nut in the bed rail, threw my wrench and called it a night.

I know you've got wood heat but this same concept should apply

I have all electric heat and my SO normally puts the thin plastic sheeting over the windows during the winter to help better insulate our shitty single panes. This year I bought .060 thick sheets of polycarbonate and cut pieces of it to fill in the window sills and make a second pane.

I used 3/8 thick 3m square weather stripping around the edges and am holding it tight against the window with l brackets.

Last year this month my electric bill was 8.59Kwh with just bare windows (we got a kitten that would shred the plastic sheeting) this year it was 8.07Kwh, next month will be the start of the real test but I'm hopeful

Yup. PT420-03023 is the part number I think. Original owner handed it to me with the unused 2nd key fob.

I don't have ABS in my 98 and I love it. Extra room in the engine bay and I don't have any issues stopping. I've read stories on this forum from other members posting that ABS has given issue in the past

    That's fucking awesome.

Did he give you a plastic "wallet" key to go with it? I've seen more of those than I have first aid kits.... I've never seen tacoma first aid kit:rofl:

We have some of them doubled up with plexy glass, I don't mind spending some cash on the forced air. Especially at 6am when I wake up and it's 12° out. The wood stove really helps Frome 4pm till past midnight.
