Seriously, my Tacoma is the most enjoyable, coolest vehicle this almost 50-year-old fart has ever had. I'm floored by people complaining about things that I think are pretty damn neat, or pretty far down the ladder on importance. "The camera resolution is horrible!" "The stereo is terrible" "when I put 38" tires on it, its really slow" "After I put 1,000 lbs of BrOverlandign crap on my truck, it gets horrible mileage" "it has no torque at 800rpm"

OMG people. Sure the truck isn't perfect, no vehicle is. But when I was a 15-year old kid, living on the poverty line, watching Back to the Future, checking out that 4x4 and dreaming of just the idea of throwing a couple sleeping bags in the back and heading up the lake, I could never dream that someday, someday I actually would have such a badass pickup!

Any 4x4 Toyota model is going to get 99% of people up 90% of the trails they want to do. Preparing for the one instance that may never come is a waste of time, effort, and money. I learned that on my 100 Series Cruiser build. I was so excited to drop the coin on front and rear lockers. I used the rear a handful of times. The front was never necessary. If you want to be able to slap on 35s stock and go rock crawling, then by all means get a Jeep. Just be prepared for the trade-offs, namely everyday usability, practicality, and reliability. For me, it's all about the balance. My Tacoma is reliable, looks awesome, gets decent gas mileage, carries tons of camping gear, and is PLENTY capable of getting me where I want to go. Remote start? Electric seats? Nah, don't care. Not any the things I'm willing chase down and end up in a less balanced vehicle for.

Life's not fair. Suck it up buttercup. You could be in a refugee camp somewhere. Count your blessings for what you have, sign out and go enjoy life. You got THREE Toyotas and you're whining. Or is it humble bragging? And we wonder why we get labelled as entitled?

Good point. If OP has the space and budget for multiple vehicles, he could have a Wrangler for a trail toy, and a Toyota for towing the Jeep around when it's broken.

I just wish Toyota would allow you to option these trucks more freely, like I want heated seats but don't care about dual climate control or a sunroof(just an example, I can't remember what junk you get stuck with for heated seats) What I really want is an SR DCSB V6 6MT 4x4 with a manual transfer case and vinyl floors and no safety sense:D.

Lol, I find myself wondering about these guys too every time a post like this comes up.

The hand wringing about what would happen if someone came up with a better product than the one they currently use?!

    OMG, what to do!?

    LMFAO... :D

Ok, then somebody forgot to put M/T transmission ratios on the agenda.

I don't need to go ludicrous fast in reverse, thank you!

I remember the first trailer I backed up with my MT Tacoma. Holy hell! But, backing up a trailer at 35 mph is quite the rush...
My buddy: "Do you want to mountain bike or sky dive with a wingsuit today?"
Me: "Naw, I want a real rush. I think I will back up a 5X8 trailer, uphill, with my Tacoma today!"

Brand loyalty is even dumber than a two party political system.

This! I remember years ago wheeling my stock 1992 Sierra 1500HD 2WD with Duratrac's and going further than some of the 4WD's. As with every rig ground clearance was the typical limitation. A truck is only as good as the driver lol.

I can understand that people like all the " extras " that are coming along . Im a simple guy , get all that pollution crap off my engine so i can at least see it and if my ass gets cold , I'll turn on the heat. Give me an engine , transmission, drivetrain and some big tires. Radio might be cool tho.
