Hey all - Sorta Newbie over here to the beauty and downright kick assfulness of Tacomas....I've currently got an 08 Access Cab TRD that I adore. Sadly the frame is sorta fucked - and baby doesnt qualify for the recall.
I'm trying to figure out how to rig mine for very basic off roads capabilities - soft top camper in the summer - hard top in the winter.
I'm an apprentice sheep shearer and the idea of spending money on shitty motels rather than the gas to hit up an RV site and the beginner (for now) off roads on my days off in between shearing is a little more appealing to me!
I am no mechanic by any means - I have a hand shearing machine that needs to be fixed....if I can do that maybe I'll muster up the guts to tackle truck repairs......
Thank fuck my old man taught me to change a tire before I learned to drive....

Thanks all! Glad to be here!
And stoked to make my Tacoma my home away from home on the road!
If I was a mechanic - I'd replace the frame on my baby, swap out the current automatic for manual transmission amongst many other things....But alas....im not.
Currently rethinking making a 1st Gen my daily driver .... and instead just for shearing which is seasonal
