I'm installing an airbox and intake tube from a '96 into my '95. Reusing my original MAF.

My truck came with a K&N intake that has been giving me problems.

I've got the stock stuff in place. Fresh clamps. New hoses. But I've got two questions.

The airbox has a nipple that appears to be in use on the 96 and onward Tacos.
Whats the best practice for blocking that off? Or should I do something else?

Second, on the back on the intake tube I have a hose and a bung that need to connect. They're very similar dimensions. Am I missing a barb or a coupler or something?

The "engine bay picture" thread was a big help getting the pieces lined up and routed properly.

4 cyl and V6 have different plumbing. Thank you for offering, though!

I reused the cap from the old K&N kit for blanking off the Airbox nipple.

That just leaves the issue of the connection on the intake tube. I gotta believe that it's the same configuration for all V6's.

Can't help with the intake tube part (I have 2.7 engine), but the barb at the air filter box in mine is connected to EVAP Canister (purge line). If you have 95 you should have it next to the brake pump

Here is the picture how it is connected

    The 95s really are different.

I also Have 1995, but the canister is a little different design. And you don't have EGR. However we share the same thing. On my diagram the purge house is not connected, but in the truck it is:

On your diagram the same barb is not connected either but there is some pipe in your truck picture

Where is that hose going to? Maybe it ends in nowhere but should be connected to the air box. Just guessing.

The hose out of the canister goes to a hard line heading aft. I already pushed the truck outside, so I couldn't see where it goes, but the routing is definitely correct.

I'm going to try to hook up with @mtb_taco as they have generously offered that little connector so I can wrap up this project.

Regarding the nipple on the airbox....

Has anyone got a stock 1995 V6 that can share a picture of that area? Curious if the early production had that same appendage.

You got me thinking really hard. :D I checked the FSM and the round charcoal canister is listed for 2WD model only. The one I have is listed for 4WD. Regardless of the engine size. In the round canister the hose I pointed is actually going to the fuel tank. So you are right, I was wrong. There is no mention of any hose going into air box. The 4WD canister has the line going to the air box, like my truck has.

This Taco is an early '95 4WD.

So the mystery is not entirely solved. :alien:
