    Good morning!
We celebrated Veteran's Day (and our anniversary) by driving the Tacoma to Augusta, a 3 1/2 hour drive each way.
    I purchased a rec-teq pellet cooker/grill (RT-590) at their factory showroom. It's a heavy mother!
Can't wait to try her out.

    Happy Anniversary.

Good Morning everyone. Bought a new Guitar yesterday. Picked up a Taylor AD27e. This is an entry level acoustic guitar with solid wood construction, a mahogany top and onboard electronics. I recently started taking guitar lessons after a 50 year absence.

Kurt: The greenhouse looks great. I am always amazed at the number of us seniors that a competent doing multiple trades in the home. Sure does save us a lot of cash.

Thank you sir! We'll see what I have learned about 12V pumps this afternoon!

Good Morning everyone! I'm not sure I love it or not that part of the insurance company calls and says "come here for a free screening"! Only got one they offer that I haven't already had, but I guess I will be positive that they are "protecting their investment"!

    Have a great Thursday!

I love my step as well -especially when I have my air bags pumped up high for hauling heavy loads of wood
One tip for those wanting one of these -- Put a " wanted to buy" ad in the "buy sell section" .
Many times people that buy loaded up trucks are "off roaders", and the steps definitely can get ripped off easily when going over rough ditches etc. I got mine about 1/2 price from someone that did not want it

Home depot gives the 10% discount everyday -not just vets day. Everything EXCEPT special order stuff.
I wish we had a HD closer than 35 miles away. At least we have a Lowes (they do the special order and vet discount) and a Menards.

Be careful with that 12V Depending on the number of amps it can be dangerous. During my career I routinely worked with a -48V@50 to 200A. It will melt the tip off a screwdriver. Don't ask me how I know.

Good Morning folks. Another day on the porch.

Happy belated Anniversary to you and the missus. I can never forget mine it's September 11. We never celebrate it on that day.

Hey Tom, do you have a veterans card? It's easy to apply for one and then just show it at the register when you are checking out at HD. At Lowes you do it on line and just give them your phone number and it's deducted from your total (some clerks ask for ID to confirm it's you but most don't). Either way or store, every little bit helps.

:thumbsup: Thanks guys! Give me something to look up tonight while watching football.

 Well, this is "just two little motorcycle size" cells in series, so, only like 50 Amps available! Don't worry, it's on my "Free Solar Water" system, so it's all timed and switched. In one of my past lives, as a field tech for a lighting company, one of my "specialty" products were IPS and UPS inverters with 100+ 12 VDC cells in series/parallel arrangements, for 1000 - 10KVA systems. AC will knock you off. DC will grab your A** and not let go. I personally know what a Bell Labs electrical room looks like upside down. So, lesson learned, and one life used!:thumbsup:

Yup I do not fool around with DC current. It will kill ya. AC will hurt but in most cases not kill. I have always wanted to learn how to weld. I have the time now but all coursed are prepping students for the trade. I cannot find classes for seniors.

I have that I am a vet on my MO. drivers license. I always assumed that this is a nationwide Home depot policy -- I can't see where Columbia Mo would give discounts they did not have to. Do you have a VA ID card or any other proof?

I have Veteran status on my MD licenses. In the past HD only honored my Veteran status on 4 days of the year. Their policy may have changed. I will try to use it the next time I shop at HD. I also registered as a Veteran on the Lowes site and they give me a discount on any purchase. Where I live there is a HD and lowes across the road from each other. There is a lot of difference between the two when gathering parts for projects.

Welding is a nice skill to have. Do not work too hard today and stay safe on Friday the 13th.
