Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell Pro

I take it you have a completely different setup now? Also do you think 270/75/17 would have any issues? I want a little bit more height from the tire. I guess I'm curious how much room you had before CMC would be needed.

 

I was just referring to me taking off my mudflaps and taking off my Nerf bars...

i’m not the best person to ask tire fitment questions as I asked a few shops around town what they thought would fit underneath my truck general consensus was something close to zero offset because I didn’t want to go super negative offset on my rims because of ball joint wear

 

I was in the same boat as you trying to decide which kit to get. I felt like the nitro kit was great but for not much more I could get their best kit and it was still a much better value than anything else on the market. I scoured the internet and couldn't find anything negative about Ironman either. The maintenance free UCA's kind of sealed the deal for me. My biggest holdup was the green. I had a guy lined up to powder coat them but by the time I received all the parts, I had to get it all installed before a big trip to Montana. I would say I have close to 5K miles on the setup now but only about 1K with the new tires and lower front. Lowering the front made a WORLD of difference in both the ride and the aesthetic. It was a huge pain in the ass and I had to get another alignment but it was worth it.

 

Oh my bad I thought you took off lift and got smaller tires. If you have more pictures that show the lift and stance that would be great. I’ll have to do more research on tires and ask around.

 

yeah it is still quite a bit cheaper than anything else on the market for whay you get. Probably will go foam cell for that reason. I’m thinking I’ll adjust everything to what I think I’ll want (after I get the springs powder coated) and then won’t get an alignment until I give it a few days to see if I want to go lower or higher on the lift. It’s set to 2.5” stock so I’m gonna try that out first then go from there. I’m sure it was nice you could lower the front but with the nitros you would’ve been screwed there.

You happen to know if they fit with a 2.5" lift, I've got the same wheels as you.

 

Should fit just fine. A stock TRD Pro can run 33's with no rub and they are 1" higher in the front than the other 4x4 trims.

 

How are you guys liking the ride?

 

I have the nitro kit but I love it. On the road a little firmer but on forest roads I can tell a big difference,. I catch myself goin faster then I want because of the way it rides...alot smoother

What front spring are most of you guys running? I want the 2.5” but not sure to go with the 0-110 performance or the 110-220 constant. I will eventually be running a front bumper probably the SSO with a winch so i think ill be right around the 100-120lb mark.

 

My understanding is that the spring is the same for every kit but the pre-load is what changes the lift height unless you get a spring that is going to have a constant weight on it which in that case is heavier and I’d assume has less flex. So if you go with the 2.5” performance or 3” performance it doesn’t matter it’s the same spring but the difference is that if you have them assemble it, they set the pre-load differently to get you a different lift height.

 

I have constant load coils in front and performance load springs in the back.

I have approx 300# of bumpers combined (202 of that in the front) I also planned on putting a winch on at some point. When I called and talked to Ironman America that’s what they recommended. I also called other shops and the said the same thing.

 

No expert by any means, and not trying to to stir the pot but I am not sure this is correct. My doubt comes from the fact that Ironman currently has their 3" performance and 2.5" constant front springs both listed as out of stock.
I think if it were simply a pre-load adjustment during assembly inventory status would be consistent. Just my thought.
@Vst I think your questions are best for Ironman and they've been very responsive via the chat feature in my experience. Hopefully you'll share their direction!

 

I was on the customer support live chat with them and that’s the answer I got but I’m not 100% positive. I know the foam cells are adjustable so setting the pre-load determines the height but I was told no difference between springs. Not stirring the pot at all just trying to help each other get the most correct information! Definitely use the Ironman4x4 live chat and ask them they are helpful!

 

Not liking the “live” chat. It’s not live at all, it just sends a contact request and then I’m emailed back later (once I received no answer). It’s hardly a discussion and I have to submit new tickets for each question. Are you all having having success with phone calls?

My concerns are surrounding the over-stated lift height coming from the constant load leaf pack. I carry roughly 300-350 lbs with a hardshell + overland equipment, which I assumed like others would necessitate the constant load.

By all accounts it seems I need to remove 1 if not 2 springs from the bundle, and then perhaps may run into an issue of the center pin’s threads not going down far enough to make it snug. Turning into a real PIA to order something assembled and doing more work to unassemble it.

 

I called them every time. The “live chat” I know for a fact isn’t live.

Let me state this... I know they are a growing company in America and I have first hand seen their operations in Wilsonville Oregon. They aren’t a one man show but at the same time they don’t have 50 people answering phones and live chats. Give them a chance to get back to you because they are working thru the kinks of growing pains ontop of covid.
