    Yes I did read that in the specs but I wasn't sure if that included the top hat within the measurement. thanks,

    However I also found on your website a slightly longer fully extended measurement for the FOx -418 which prompted my question.

    It appears that the 22.48" Fox -418 droop would be 3/4" (1.5" at tire centerline) more than a stock TRD front suspension with regard to coil assembly. How much stress would that additional droop contribute to wear on suspension componentry (cv axles/boots, ball joints, lower control arm bushings) with an aftermarket UCA at high speed continuous max front suspension articulation? Which suspension component would require the most scrutiny for wear/replacement in use excluding the front coil over assembly?
    Obviously the additional suspension travel has significant benefits.

    Do you know:
    - Max Fox - 418 coil assembly compressed length (top of top hat to center of lower eyelet)?
    - The TRD pro stock Fox assembly full droop measurement?
    - Max TRD off-road front suspension coil travel?
    - TRD off-road coil spring load rating?
    - TRD off-road max compressed front coil assembly length (top of top hat to center of lower eyelet)?

    I’m trying to understand the same thing. If you were to mount those 0-3” front coilovers on stock upper/lower control arms how would it hurt it? I understand not to jack it all the way up because alignment would be hopeless but what driving conditions would induce the full droop?

    Went further into the OEM rear suspension review on my 2021 TRD offroad to gain more baseline details.

    Measured the fully extended rear shock length at - 23.5"

    Measured full droop (max articulation) with the rear shock disconnected from the lower mount - 24.5"

    Currently it appears the rear shock is the limiter for suspension droop when fully extended at 23.5"

    Measurements were from the inside of the upper shock cup where the shock top bolt goes through to the center of the lower mounting hole.

    With rear shock lower bolt removed, fully extended, and tire off ground

    same position measuring full OEM shock extension. 23.5" and 24.5" for full OEM spring articulation whereby the OEM shock constrains full articulation.

    @AccuTune Offroad could you explain how a extended length of 23.8" would not impede
    maximum articulation with an OEM spring pack that currently seems to require 24.5" of
    shock extended length for full articulation. My stock spring pack is already constrained from full articulation by the stock OEM rear shock measuring 23.5".

    Maybe I'm missing something or not understanding the mechanics of what is required for full droop (max articulation) on the OEM rear spring pack??

    Basically you want to run a longer shock to get more down travel. This can be done, but what you need to take into account is up travel. Up travel is everything and usually is what determines the proper shock length you can run. A longer travel shock is going to have a longer shock body. This will require you to run a bump stop spacer so the shock doesn't bottom out first, which in the end would limit your up travel. Up travel is your friend!

    I get the up travel thing.. I have near 12" rear travel on my Husqvarna FE501 with 105mm rear sag setting and use the factory spring for my weight. Goes through woops at considerable speed with ease. However I have fast and slow speed compression along with rebound adjustment (which unfortunately is missing on the FOX intended Tacoma stuff) l've also re-valved the front forks and changed oil weight along with air gap for my ride style. Do have some experience with suspension, not entirely a noob.

    My question for you was with regard to using a shorter length rear shock (23.8") than the max OEM spring articulation (24.5") allows. Would this not cause the rear shock to act as a limiter (continual top out) and result in potential shock failure with hard off-road use?

    Feel free to message us with specific questions. Yes the shock is going to limit your down travel, it's not horrible, the shocks are designed to handle that. Tacoma rear axles/tires are not crazy heavy so its fine. If you really plan to beat on the truck in the desert rough whoops/jumps etc, then you could look into limit straps.

    If I had it to do all over again, I would have still gotten Fox, but I would have gone through @AccuTune Offroad.

    I went through a buddie of mine, that owns a shop. And he didn't have really enough pull with the distributor to get my shocks any faster than they came.

    I would also consider ADS. My opinion is ADS and Fox are best.

    Took forever but now the foxes I've had stewing in the garage for the past two years or so have been installed. Aside from the leaf packs, hardest part is getting an acceptable DIY alignment. No one is open tomorrow so gotta wait til Monday. I have camber apparently right at 0, LCA cams at neutral, and caster is whatever it is. But it looks like both tires are towing out now and I'm not sure how to fix it.

    Hoping a proper alignment takes care of that because my wheels were quite squeaky when turning at speeds above 15 mph.

    But the ride feels noticeably different. Not life changing yet but also haven't put it through the paces.

    Those were my 2 finalists too after I replaced Kings with wanting ADS. I'm still leaning fox at this point though, and Accutune was always where I planned on going so I could get them pre set up and at least somewhat tailored to my use. I need to contact them, I'm afraid their lead times may be nuts too. I keep finding good deals on marketplace, but the suspension on my truck now was all used when I originally bought the setup and I would like to start fresh this time.

    Hi everyone! I currently have 5100s and one springs on my 2nd gen. I was perfectly happy with them until I bought a trd pro 4runner, and now I hate how my Tacoma rides.

    I'm getting analysis paralysis trying to figure out what I should get. Thinking fox 2.5 ifp's. I live in new England so it's mostly rock crawling up here. I have steel skids and sliders, aluminum bumper, and winch.

    The TRD Pro come with internal bypass shocks, so they are quite a bit different than the Bilstein shocks you have. I would suggest looking at a remote reservoir shock package and not IFPs. Fox 2.5 Remote Reservoir shocks would be a great upgrade. We could swap spring rates if needed and valve them to work well with the added weight you have on the truck.

    If you adjust the preload do you have to get another alignment? Just got one yesterday and front looks like it's settled a but. Rough measurement from garage floor to fender is about 35.75" front and 38.25" back. I figure the back still needs to settle but that does seem like a bit much rake.

    Yeah, a small amount of lift or lower will jack up your camber and toe significantly.

    Aw damn. It was 75 bucks. I thought I had it setup the way I wanted. I think some of the lift was lost due to adjusting the caster position of my SPC UCAs.

    Hhhhmmmmm, I think that’s a stretch. Usually got to cycle the suspension a few times to get it to settle proper.
