I got a quote from Monterey Toyota in CA for a 2021 TRD OR in cement with tech package. They wanted $47K before tax and fees. LOL. They added every imaginable fake fees/mark up on there and called it a deal. I ended up picking up the same truck somewhere else for $38.5K before tax and fees.

I am new to this site. What does the TRD Off Road have that the TRD Sport does not? Also, if it is TRD Off Road does that automatically mean it is 4x4? I am not much of an off roader and other than driving up to the local Southern CA mountains or Mammoth once or twice year, not sure that I would use the 4x4 much at all.

Only difference is that the TRD Sport is tune for more for on road driving, has 17" wheels and a non functional hood scoop, you can get that in 2WD or 4x4. The TRD OR have 16" wheels and bilsteins shocks for off road use and have crawl control, I believe you can only get that in 4x4.

Canyou share where you scored this in So Cal? I haven;t gotten super serious yet but the best answer on get on price here in San Diego has been "These are in short supply, we will only sell at MSRP if not likely higher. When you do you want to come in?" and I don't even bother replying. Not that I can find the truck I want anyway. Your specs are pretty much what I am looking for in either Voodoo Blue, Army Green or White.

And the DAM inventory search on Toyota.com does not appear to be accurate. I show the dealers the results, they look for the truck in their database, and they cannot locate it. So I get a surge of "how about this one" and it isn't even close to the specs I gave them.

I picked the OR over the Sport because I find the ride quality of the Sport too bumpy. It's pretty cush with the OR. I suggest you test drive both side by side and get a feel for yourself.

47k? it is the price for the PRO (without any markup).
38.5 with tech package is still deep :(

they wanted $47k for the off road model. I live in CA, everything is steep here lol. I’m lucky to find one that is under MSRP.

If my deal completes, I’ll be purchasing a loaded 4x4 OR soon. MSRP is $46,197. Sales price before TTL is $40,997.

We have not discussed financing, trade, or anything else yet.

The price came directly from the GM of my dealer.

I’m thinking the Bronco, other competition, and Toyotathon incentives are driving better deals finally.

I had two dealerships in Wisconsin fighting over my business. Tacoma trd offroad DBL Cab in army green. All weather floor mats and mud guards are only factory add on. MSRP $38,832 Sales price $36,200. This place gave me more on trade for old taco as well. Still in freight status on the new one. Now the waiting game.

Maybe it matters when you buy the truck. For example if you buy in 2021, on January 1st, will it be $1,080. Curious to see if this holds true come January, and if the destination fee actually goes down.

11.3% discount on a Tacoma is a terrific deal. But I’ll have to wait and see what they plan to offer on my trade.

Yeah, that sounds pretty good. Any chance you mind sharing that dealership? I’m a few hours away from Bristol and not above driving that far to make a deal.

Can anyone shed any insight as to whether the advanced technology package is worth it? I assume the desire for aftermarket bumpers is a significant consideration for a lot of you, but I’m really intrigued by MTM. Resources or other threads are appreciated. I’ve tried searching with little luck, and don’t want to create a thread dedicated to it.
