91 Nissan 300Z TT that was a few years old. Leaked and burned oil faster than you could pour it into the engine. Add in electrical issues that would kill the engine and bam, will never own another Nissan or Infinity, period.

98 Suzuki Sidekick my dad owned. Thing was an absolute gutless deathtrap even by 90's standard. I recall my dad upgrading to an 03 CRV and how much better of a car that was.

I had a '98 Sidekick 4x4 for several years. Was unaware of any safety issues. It was a good, reliable vehicle. Went everywhere I pointed it. As it aged, more things started to break, tho.

1973 Jeep Wagoneer. Lowest price parts bin disaster. You literally had to take the broken part (of which there would be plenty) to the auto parts store to argue that yes, indeed this is a GM starter, not a Ford like the computer says. Not to mention the adapter plates custom factory drilled to fit the transfer case to the transmission...

So, the last four months of 2018 and all of 2019 made for a record-setting year in terms of racking up miles
on my truck that until about the end of 2018 had lower than average miles on it...

    Let’s do a rundown!

From the beginning of September 2018 to the very end of June 2019, when I worked at the detail shop, I was putting a minimum of 80 miles a week on my truck; I often worked on my days off so putting a hundred or more miles on my truck in a week was not the least bit uncommon (My commute to the detail shop from home, and back again, was 10 miles each way). Carfax shows that my truck had just over 87K on it when the dealer replaced the evaporator core in September 2018, which is slightly low for a vehicle that had been purchased new almost nine years earlier in September 2009...

I started doing Uber Eats in October 2018 and I probably put a good extra 1,000 miles on that truck that I would not have otherwise racked up had I not done Uber Eats, between October and December...

I don’t remember when I hit a solid 88K, but like I said my truck’s Carfax shows just over 87K when the evap core was replaced; I drove up to Wilkes-Barre in mid-October 2018 to help my cousin move some furniture from her apartment into her new house, and I hit 89K either driving to the apartment or back to the new house...

I was really excited as this meant I was another thousand miles closer to 100K, but my cousin who was riding with me said I should save my excitement for 90K

I worked a full shift at Puck on Thanksgiving Eve in 2018, and ended up driving a drunk friend home after he’d spent the entire night drinking and was in absolutely no condition to drive. My truck hit 90K in the wee hours of Thanksgiving 2018 after I dropped my friend off...

I hit 91K sometime in December 2019 while doing an Uber Eats run, and after that I am unsure of the 1,000-mile increments; Backtracking a bit, my oil change records show my mileage at exactly 79,500 during the second weekend in January 2018. This means that I put roughly 12K mile on my truck during the entirety of 2018...

With the considerable jump in driving due to Uber Eats, my mileage rolled up quickly; I went to a record number of car shows between March and November that year, and I’d say at least 3,000 miles came from that...

I cracked 98K on my way to a car show in York, in June 2019, if I remember correctly...

I put in my two weeks at the detail shop in mid-June and my last day was June 29th. I left directly from work to drive up to my cousin’s house in the Wilkes-Barre area, and I hit 99K on the backroads of Luzerne County probably two or three miles from her house...

July 4th fell on a weekday that year, and I spent like two days with my best friend and his family at their house in the Poconos; This is about a 150-mile drive round trip, not including the 3 or 4 miles I drove from the house to get ice and then back again on the first day...

The day before I hit 100K, in mid-July, I drove out to the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown; This is 50-mile drive one way, so I put over a hundred miles on my truck that day between food delivery and driving to Morgantown...

On the day I hit 100K, I had stopped doing Uber Eats in favor of DoorDash several days earlier and was driving back to Doylestown from New Hope when the magic moment happened; If I remember correctly, I was listening to Linda Ronstadt...
