This. What’s funny is last month when I went on vacation my neighbors HS-Aged kids watched my house, now I’m wishing I hadn’t disabled my inside cam

As far as the truck goes, I wouldn’t worry about it. No harm, no foul. These are Toyota’s, they like to be abused a little:D

Im with OP on this one, I feel it was a little excessive inside the shop and in the parking lot. But, given he was probably trying to find that hesitation it was brought in for, Id have to leave it at that. Not worth the hassle. Might consider taking it elsewhere next time. idk. If a tech disconnected my dashcam on the other hand, I would be pissed. I dont record audio on it so there would be no excuse for someone to do that like stated earlier in this thread.

I guess im the minority and would say thats bullshit. Why the fuck he is stomping on it? The complaint was hesitation at 40 mph, not 2 mph. Going over speed bumps like they are not even there, zero fucks given about the customer's vehicle. Thats why i avoid all dealers at all costs. Most of them complete scumbags and lying sacks of shit.

I work my ass off for my money and for some fucker to drive my truck like that would really piss me off. I know most of you guys dont agree but to me that super unprofessional. I can drive my truck like that if i want to, but definetily not a toyota tech.

Blowing over speed bumps like that is just the kind of thing that will crack the tinfoil battery support on these trucks.

The plastic pad is irrelevant, the vertical body sheet metal under the battery tray is prone to cracking from the weight of the battery, usually from driving with abandon over washboard.

Absolutely. It's not like he was looking for a clunk while going over bumps. This dude gave no shits. I worked at dealerships as a young man and was astonished at the complete disregard when it came to customers vehicles. My father in law has a 2017 F250 with a custom House of Kolor paint job. The Ford dealership that supplies his bodyshop also does the maintenance for him as he is too busy to DIY. One of the techs carelessly swung the door open into a concrete bollard. Ended up costing the dealership over $6k (CAD) as they ended up having to respray the entire side of the truck to get it to match. My Taco is just about due for its first service which I am having the dealer do as they have given me service credits for some of the issues I've had and I am going to mark the oil filter and such so I can make sure it was done. Pretty pathetic this is what is has come to.

Well good luck with your dealer:) There are good ones out there but they are very difficult to find.

I worked in dealerships when i took my apprenticeship for automotive serv tech, and guess who was changing the oil? Me! Did i care? Not really, i was 17 years old and hung over half of the time.

I guess a lot of guys who say "who cares? Its a truck" had some inheritance or money given to them by mommy and daddy to buy their trucks/homes. I was given 0 cents for everything i have and i guess i value my things a bit different. Also my jobs were very hard labour when i was younger and there were times i had no food in the fridge. I still work a labour job, but its waasy easier. So i guess i grew up to appreciate things a bit more. But if i saw some POS tech driving my 50k truck like that, i would have a talk with the dealer. Although i know they wont give a fuck and would just smile and nod and say how sorry they are.

Welcome to the best damn Tacoma forum on the interwebs Clint :hattip:

Unfortunately, the absolute worst place to ask for opinions sometimes.

I think you're definitely overreacting. What if I decide to walk up and hit your truck with a hammer, or drag a metal rake down the side? If you don't treat your truck like a wussy you'll probably just do the same thing on the trails some day anyway. Right? That's the same thing isn't it?

:jerkoff: I think not. I'm with you on this. Your truck, your hard earned money to buy the truck, your rules. Disrespect is disrespect and it's not any grey area here.

I recently saw a thread where an idiot service associate (aka lot boy is what they used to be called before we became PC) drove a members truck into something during a visit for service. Fuk'd his shit up. Now the guy has to deal with that. I once watched a valet destroy the bumper/fender and snap a wheel off a car hitting the curb right in front of the people waiting for it. They were checking out of the hotel, with their bags in their hands, and it was snowing. He was going too fast. Hell, I wanted to kick his ass for the old couple.

People just don't have any pride anymore. Everyone has the "entitlement" attitude. The dealership probably treats them poorly. They obviously don't care how they perform, or even more disturbing, how you feel about it.

I would be pissed. I bet he thinks he's a fast & furious quality driver each time he gets into his own $800 pos whatever.

My best advice. Find a local repair shop with too much work to have time to play or learn how to do all your own work.

I took mine in for the second "free" oil change and before I left I looked under the hood and the dipstick wasn't all the way in. Yes, there was oil all down the front of the engine and in the skid plate. The dripping oil and spot under the truck is what prompted me to look under the hood. :smack:
