transmission leak??

had my transmission flushed and refilled last week...now i'm seeing spots on the pavement..I took some pics to post...It's not leaking from up top and running down...It seems to be coming out of the box?? when it was first done i saw some the next day but figured it was just from having it done..My transmission fluid level seems fine nothing low or anything..I"m just worried that it's a slow leak or something

1. how and why does this happen?
2. how do i fix this
3. should i take it back to the shop..I went cheap and against my better judgment and had it done at....jifffypoop..The closest mechanic I trust is like a 30min drive..It's hard getting work far away with my kid with me..

i thought so too..but it has no fluid up in the tube?? it's strange.seems to be leaking from the box?

 

well....the dipstick tube is 2 piece...with an o-ring where it disconnects in the middle. they may have nicked the o-ring while putting it back. it'll look like its coming from the pan......but it'll mostly come from where the o-ring is.

 

ok..I"ll check again on the dipstick tube....
If it is the pan..how can I fix it??..
I really don't trust the knuckleheads to fix it..I already had to take it back because they didn't fill up coolant reservoir...

 

do this.......spray the area with brake cleaner...all the way up the tube. then....put a piece of masking tape on down the tube.....past the split in the tube. then drive it....if you see tranny fluid getting on the tape...you know its coming from the o-ring area. if its the pan....you'll be able to tell. im betting solidly on it being the o-ring tho.

ok..depending on what the problem is..is it an easy fix whether it's the box or tube?

 

if its mid tube.....new o-ring will do it(grease the o ring a bit before reconnecting tube)...if its pan....if sanding and some jb weld dont fix it...you'll need another pan.

 

I had mine flushed at the dealer and I was concerned about leaks after the flush, but when I got to looking at the truck I figured they did not remove the pan just disconnected the ATF lines at the radiator cooler, to flush it, granted they did not wash out the screen filter but now thinking back on it I am glad they did it the way they did.
