Yup I did mine right after getting the truck..was the search for a device to do it that led me here.

Pretty sure neither of us had foggies either..I did that pretty quick too

I have two late model Vespa GTS & GTV. They are closed to 300cc so it’s about 23hp These things FLY. 75 mph isn’t a huge deal. And Yes. I love them to bit.
I’m getting a project P200e which was an ex NYPD in the early 80’s. That sucker with the light weight and my Asian frame can keep up with any traffic, though with the small wheels not that great maintaining hiway speed.

UPDATE: Ended up NOT buying the car because the frame was shot...

Anybody an expert on GM B-body cars? My friend's neighbor has been casually attempting to sell his 1984 Chevy Caprice wagon for quite a while (his wife wants it gone but he loves the thing). The car is running, driving, roadworthy condition, and the A/C apparently works! I am going for a test drive this Sunday. The only thing that appears to be wrong with the vehicle upon basic visual inspection is the clearcoat is peeling; The car does not seem to have any rust. I am going for a test drive this Sunday; The owner is asking $2,750 but I think I can get them below $2,500! My friend who flips cars says it's a "$1,000 car" but I think it's worth more and know this guy has a great detail of sentimental attachment to the thing (like I do to my Tacoma). Anybody an expert on these cars? If I can get the guy down to at least $2,500 and my mechanic gives it a clean bill of health, I'm gonna pay the guy cash and drive it home...

No backup for me, not with a single DIN radio. Don't really need it anyway, I drive better backwards than most people do forwards..

I might be buying a project car; It's a 1984 Chevy Caprice Classic station wagon that aside from peeling clearcoat is actually in great condition! The seller lives down the street from my friend Gwyn, and he is asking $2,750. I forget the mileage of the car, but I believe it's under 100K; The A/C apparently works! I am going to be test driving the car on Sunday, and if I like it I will have my mechanic put it up on the lift and look it over. I just spent some money on Christmas presents for my dad and I don't want to cut into my savings, but I believe I can get the guy below $2,500. If the chassis and suspension area in good shape and I can talk the seller down, I plan on taking delivery of the car sometime in early December.

The only thing the car seems to really need based on my quick visual inspection is a new stereo. It has the original AM/FM radio and I'm presuming the original speakers. My neighbor will have to built me custom mounts for rear speakers, so for the time being I would make do with new speakers in the front only; I can get a retro shaft-style RetroSound Hermosa AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, USB, and subwoofer/amp hookups for $280. This stereo will fit perfectly without forcing me to hack up the dash; A set of Retrosound speakers that fit the factory locations in the dash can be had for like eighty bucks, bringing the grand total for a basic but modernized stereo to just over $360!

I'd say the chances right now are less than 50% that I will buy this car, but I am test driving it this weekend and if I like it I will have my mechanic look at it; Like I said, if it checks out then I will make a deal. Liability insurance for this car is incredibly affordable, and between that and the stereo I think I can clear a tidy profit selling it in a year or so! If I buy this car, I will create a build thread for it in the "Other Builds" section!

Should I buy it? It’s a classic car with working A/C that I can actually pay cash for!

Clearcoat is peeling, that's the only obvious problem I could find other than the fact it needs a new stereo system...

    @shakerhood

This is the oddly-optioned early 80s Mustang I was telling you about, that I saw at cruise night about a week ago (November 6th); 2.3L, stick shift, cruise control, AM/FM radio, and T-tops, but no A/C...

I'm not paying for a repaint; I've priced out a vintage-style AM/FM stereo with USB and Bluetooth, and two speakers at just over $360; When I get a little more money I will replace the rear speakers and add a sub and amp...

Crutchfield does not sell any speakers that fit the factory rear locations, and there is a chance that this car does NOT have the AM/FM stereo which means it didn't come with rear speakers anyway; So, my neighbor would have to help me rig something up to get rear speakers in this car...

    :annoyed:

Project cars can turn into a money put really quick. I know you want to eventually have your own condo. Buying that is a step backwards.

And I think I'm gonna go for a house; I'm willing buy an older place with no central air if it means not having to deal with a stinkin' homeowner's association!

Also, I’ve already gotten an insurance quote for the Caprice; It’s CHEAP! Even my “you can’t afford it” dad thinks it’s cheap...

If I can get it for the right price I plan on flipping it for a profit within a year; I’ve looked up these cars online and it is insane what they’re going for!

    But only if...

    1. The A/C does actually work.
    2. The heater works.
    3. It does not leak oil.
    4. The frame isn't rusty.
    5. The suspension does not have to be replaced.
    6. It doesn't make any disconcerting noises on the 611 bypass at 70 MPH...

Also, I just bought almost $90 worth of KN95 masks on Amazon; However, those are something I actually need and my parents will probably pay me back if they use any of them...

Very neat, looks that that kid has a nice project. Seems like years ago you could pick many different options versus today of having to buy packages of options.
