So I've been wanting to get rid of the rear blocks and talked to Atlas. They recommended the 4" over stock for the rear but someone else told me that most of the shocks that come on the db lifts wont work with that. If it sits the same in the rear then why wouldn't the shocks work? I really want to upgrade everything but I don't want to buy new shocks that end up not fitting. Confused haha

Hey looking for some input after trying to read through this 700 page thread but haven't seen many first gens. I have a first gen that Im looking to put a 6" fabtech DB on but want to do without the spacers and blocks. What are my options for shocks? For the rear I was planning on using the blocks until I can afford a custom leaf pack, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for the help

The first gen Fabtech DB lift no longer uses a front strut spacer if you plan on buying a new kit. They provide an extended front strut/shock useing your existing coils

King, Fox, Radflo, and Icon will custom build a coilover for DB lifts. As for the rear, Alcan, Atlas, or Deaver can set you up with a custom leaf pack

Thank you, thats what I was thinking that there wasn't a strut spacer but was told there was. I'm kind of on a budget right now and my truck has 5100s on it already. Will the front be okay or do I need to replace with a longer one? I have 5100s in the rear but i'm assuming b110s will be okay to replace with?

New SPC UCAs, Icons all around, and Alcan springs. Around 2" higher in the rear, but should be perfect when loaded up with all the camping crap, kayaks, and squaredrop camper.

How's the ride with the Alcan's in the rear?

The ride is definitely stiffer, but not too bad. Just finished loading up for a camping trip and it dropped about an inch, but the stock springs would have been flat. The back end is noticeably higher without the trailer, but it levels out nicely with a load. I'm really happy with the whole setup.

Did you spec in "no added weight" for them?

I had them do 600 lbs over stock. I have about 250 lbs with the racks, full size spare, tonneau cover, and trailer spare all the time. The trailer has about 120 lbs tongue weight. Initially I was only thinking 300-400 lbs, but after talking with Bob at Alcan about the potential of being fully loaded with kayaks, generator, portable a/c-heater, gas, water, 12' canopy, and whatever else I can shove in the bed, he suggested 600 lbs. It rides great loaded up. The amount of sag on the stock springs with all this crap was crazy. The trailer was almost level (slight incline towards the truck) when hooked up before. With the new springs I had to buy a drop hitch and lower it 6" to get the trailer level.

Putting a bds 6” coilover kit on my Tacoma in the next two weeks. I’m looking for 2.5 fox rears with reservoirs to match the front. I’m looking into fox 2.5 smoothies. Has anyone tried running this setup with bushing eyelet to stem mount adapters on top?

I think the springs were around $800 and I also had them make new u bolts. Everything with shipping to FL was a little over a grand.

Turns out @AccuTune Offroad will do a custom top mount swap and shaft increase on the Ram 1500 rear fox 2.5 shocks and resis for our Tacoma to accommodate a larger lift like I’m getting. So I will be going that route.
