Alright @81Trekker. I’m going to have to add the spring under to pair with that +4! Looks killer so far!

And I’ll throw in a few teaser images of the bolt in, smog legal fuel cell cradle.

I’m trying to change Friday’s on Tacoma World from nonsense BS thread day to the latest and greatest for our trucks

I know this is a random question, but theoretically is it possible to install that steering quickener the reverse direction so it reduces steering speed? Not looking to reduce steering speed necessarily but would it increase the torque you can apply to the rack helping if you blew a power steering component, or just make it easier to turn the wheel when rock crawling. Any thoughts?

Yes you could in theory make it a slow steer :)

TGIF! Looks awesome all-around and I support the format change for Friday threads, too!!

I'm not mech engineer but the stock stamped hanger design is baffling as to why it was chosen by Toyota engineers for these trucks. Definitely a decision finalized by bean counters but the aftermarket solutions thus far only seem to band-aid the cheap, stamped materials and don't actually improve the design much. Yours is a much cleaner, stronger and functionally sound solution, Harry. Props again for these incredible designs and hi-quality executions.

To be fair some trucks with inverted hangers downright boogy. Like to see a tuned truck with the drop shackle hit big stuff - so many products get hyped on TW without seeing video of them working as promised but I'm not saying that's the case that they won't work as expected. This thread has a lot of amazing innovations with the front stuff, and it stands to reason that the same ends up being the case for the rear.

First gen designs are more like the JD design as they usually have a shackle hanging down from on top of the frame since the frames aren't dovetailed and again some of those trucks get down really well, too.

For the go fast / crawler guys I saw this interesting setup and it seems to actually work better than a lot of trucks.

Around 11:00 notice a 62" Deaver pack much like the one @81Trekker is using, but with less lift (F67 vs E30 - I think that's what they're using) since it's SOA. I'm not concerned about the bottom of the axle needing as much clearance.

These forklift flex pics on that IFS tacoma appear to have similar/better articulation than many solid axled “rigs” especially humble leaf SAS pickups. This is a really impressive show of articulation and I can only imagine how well it works during fast and slow paced offroad use

No doubt the IFS flex is impressive however for comparison my 81 as a solid front axle had about 4’ of flex and over 5’ when I linked it. The difference is the IFS truck can easily smash through whoops at speed and still make a nice daily driver

After looking at my truck today, I don’t think these shocks mounts would work without cutting the bed. Where the top of Harry’s bracket is, where the long bed fender well already slopes down.0B3CD4A6-15CD-4C49-B24A-A93031E19D61.jpg

I'd assume that it'd be shifted to accomodate the extra foot.

Looks to be in line with the cab side of the 'board slot' in the bed.

i ordered a LCA pivot kit, going to get it fit to my 2017 4runner by the shop that works on my raptor.
I'll ask them to take some more pictures during install, and see what kind of work is needed for fitment.
I'm running JBA high caster UCAs, do i need to replace them with regular caster ones?

That's what they suggested and did with my Tacoma install. If they have one that fits your 4Runner, buy theirs. They are very high quality, just like everything that comes out of their shop. I'm very pleased with the work they did on my truck and consider myself very fortunate to be local to them.
