Hello. I installed a lift kit, but I want to go back to stock height. Could I just cut the front coil springs to take material off instead of buying stock suspension? I did this to my 98 Del Sol and it worked great. Thanks for the input.

    PS

    Happy Friday!

Lots of guys lift these trucks and then have no use for the take-off parts. you should be able to find lightly used stock suspension stuff fairly easily. Check the buy/sell/trade section

Just out of curiosity, what don't you like about the lift?

I second this, nothing better than the stock suspension.

I apologize everyone. Woke up this morning and didn’t see a ridiculous Friday post yet so I thought I would get the ball rolling and see what kind of responses it would get. Definitely not cutting my springs and love my lift haha

    Still stock completely capable!
Have you tried loading a few thousand pounds in your truck? Could help lower it with gravity? It’s science! Or pay someone with a more lifted truck to follow you so you look less lifted ?

I never actually did it, a kid in high school did though in our school auto shop. His mom was pissed as it was her daily for years and was super clean!

I like this! I think I can fit some concrete casts in the engine bay in a few spots, should do the trick!

The problem is this is not ridiculous enough.
Try "I hate nose dive during braking. Anyone know length of 2×4 needed to replace front springs? I live in northwest so would I need treated or untreated board?"

I’d suggest rolling with a posse of fat girls. You can easily get a 3 inch drop to 2 #400ers and it’ll just cost you 2 20piece McDeals to get them into your ride. Double up on biggins for cruise nights.

Think I could find them by posting a WTB in the classifieds? Don't want to get banned.

I wouldn’t bother. Look locally. Shipping on the plumpers would kill the whole point of the cheap mod. I honestly think you could just go down to the local MikeyDs and hang around outside with some all you can eat coupons and find a few volunteers pretty easily. Also, There might be a local chapter of Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers you could go drop some chocolate pies in front of so you could snag a few large Marge’s
