man that ontrac was garbage....sooo many packages went missing when it was "delivered" by them. not sure if these prime drivers are just a rebrand of it or separate contracts but our local ones are always friendly and drive considerately.

 

Well heres the latest projects we wrapped up this week/weekend before moving in last night.

Epoxy countertop. We did 2 pours: 1 to add color and 1 for clear. We went much thicker with the clear and it was easier.

Tips: use a space heater in the room to warm up the epoxy prior to mixing and after pouring. Clean clean clean before pouring!!!! Use isopropyl alcohol (90+%) .Heat gun for bubbles to come out. if you need to cut it a diamond blade on a grinder worked well (didnt measure the new stove between the chaos)

And our fence which was nailed completely with my viair compressor on the truck. Need to get it stained asap but i had shoulder surgery this morning.

 

I'm a big DeWalt fan, but be aware that they have a good - better - best of many tools they sell. These package deals something use the good tools instead of the higher grade. When comparing prices just make sure you're comparing apples to apples.

 

I'm in the middle of remodeling my kitchen.

I'll add another thing you can do cheaply is get different width lenses for them. At my front door and my back yard I put wide screen lenses to see more of the yard. I have another camera ready that I put a very zoomed in lens for viewing the freeway traffic before I leave for work. I haven't installed it yet.



Here is a picture of the back yard at night with the wide angle lenses. They are focused on the entry ways for security and so I can see when my dogs want in.

 

Don’t necessarily mean there’s peace in the kitchen just yet. But we got hope. Treaty’s just gotta get signed.

Our Sunday project to build a foundation for a resin shed came together nicely:

 

Maybe someone a little more versed can correct me if I’m wrong but I’d suggest adding some vents to the perimeter frame. That way you can get some air circulation underneath which would prevent mold since you’re building right over the ground. Even though there’s a small gap under the frame, you want to encourage air flow as much as possible. You can drill a couple 1” holes with a hole saw per bay and attach some wire mesh on the backside to keep critters out.
just a suggestion since it looks like your yard gets a lot of shade. Easier to do now than later when you have the shed filled.

 

that's probably a good idea. I'm not too concerned with its longevity though, since we're building a garage in the next year or so, and everything in the shed will end up in there once its built. that's why I went with a cheaper resin shed, and didn't bother really anchoring the foundation into the ground, just left it on some pavers.

but maybe if I decide to keep it once the garage is built, I'll do that.
