There's a bit more to it than that. If you just change the bracket location without making other accommodations in the design, the struts will fully compress before the hood is fully closed - you don't want that :).

Had a "Friday the 13th" kind of thing happen to me today and wanted to see if anyone knows what's going on. Was going to take a quick wheeling trip with my dad (Peter's Mill Run) to see if my tires are rubbing anywhere. Stop at the trail head to air down with the engine off. As soon as I get out of the truck my coolant reservoir starts burping fluid. Enough fluid burped out to drop the reservoir from the FULL line to about halway to the LOW line. Truck was not overheating before I had turned the engine off, but I did notice my radiator fan was making contact with the top of the plastic shroud enough to wear at the plastic a little. I never heard any weird noises that would indicate that the fan was making contact. The plastic fan shroud didn't really feel "loose" or like it was really sagging, but I put a few zip ties on it to provide enough clearance so the fan no longer makes contact. Needless to say I didn't hit the trail but decided to go ahead and come back home. Temp was right in the middle of the dial the entire trip home.

So what the heck is going on? @EatSleepTacos @ilubtimmyhos :fingerscrossed:

Isn't the coolant reservoir burble a bad head gasket? I might be wrong. I am only a Youtube mechanic..saw it on a video in the last week or two..

Lol I hope not. Truck only has 62k miles on it. I remember @EatSleepTacos doing something with his coolant on wheeling trips.

    Rollin' hydrocarbons!
Randy's issue was likely a clogged cooling system. Since he replaced the radiator, he said it was way better.

How old is your coolant? Has the thermostat ever been changed? Any other symptoms? Stuff like you can hear gurgling inside the truck? Does the windshield fog up at odd times?

Coolant definitely needs to be changed. Original thermostat too. No other symptoms. I only heard the gurgling today with the engine was off when I was getting ready to air down. Windshield never fogs up.
