30k mile maintenance

Don’t really want to go to the dealer, want to do most of the work myself. But was wondering what maintenance I should do myself? Is there a general checklist for 30k mile maintenance? If it is simple as checking fluids and topping them off, I can do that myself. Diff, spark plugs, and all that is done at 60k correct?

realistically would like guidance on diy 30k tacoma maintenance. I am a first time tacoma owner and want to keep it in good condition for a long time.

I use the Carfax car care app to see what to check/do for maintenance intervals.

I'm also nearly at 30K. 30k is an oil change and tire rotation, plus they'll "check" the stuff on the list which means they'll sorta look at it. Maybe touch it with a wrench. I'm going to get my free oil change that I paid for, then I'm going to change the F and R diffs and T-case fluids myself. I'm debating changing the trans fluid - I'm automatic - but this is controversial so I'll read more first.

 

Just use common sense. Check the rear end and see if the gear oil is yellow or black. If you rarely go into 4x4 dont worry about the transfer case or front diff.

I'd do a drain & fill on the trans(3quarts). I do my auto trans every year in the attempt to keep it fresh. Check the coolant for acid, and change if needed.

Owners manual is just a guide, not an absolute.

 

in the industry the mechanics refer to it as "The Sunshine Treatment". basically let it sit outside with the hood up.
